Title: How Many Players in the Pa/Nj/Ny Region
Post by: Molsman on December 07, 2010, 10:14:10 AM
Hi all

I have been talking to quite a few players that play within a 2 hr window some even closer to where I live (Quakertown,PA). I had the pleasure of meeting Lawndart from Pigs on the Wing Squad last night and we got to talking about an east coast or Tri state meeting of Local players. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in trying to set up a Meet n Greet and who knows if we could get away with hosting a Min-Con here. Lawndart said he is able to hook up a lan connection if we want to try and go that route. In the Spring Early Summer there is a WW2 Weekend out in Reading Pa that I am looking up and I know it has been posted before.

Guess I am just trying to get a Head count of who may be interested in doing something like this since I know alot of us are unable to make the journey to Texas when the main con is. Even if we just meet for a few Beers or something and just have a meet n greet.

I have done this in the past back in Air Warrior and met alot of Excellent players from the game and some are still playing this day.

Salute

I love reading air shows. Can you tell me where you found better ones? Unless you mean that reading did not have jets.

I'm in south jersey, just about 8 miles from the walt whitman bridge. i think pipz lives a little closer to the bridge, and works less than a mile from my shop in cherry hill.

Been to the Reading airshow many times although I missed it last year. Always a good time and always manage to meet some fellow AH pilots. A few years back there was a bunch of us got together. Somebody posted a pic of us next to a Jug. I'm in for the Reading show unless work or some other RL thingy pops up.

Airflyer lives up that way (Donaldson, PA) and we've gone to the Reading airshow the past 2 years, and schedule permitting again this coming year.  We tried to find some of the AHers last year but we mostly forgot, although I do think we passed by one (Saw a Scouts Troop and Leader at the gate and someone mentioned being the Leader on here).
We're normally there Saturday for ~3 hours, always interesting to meet AHers so we can move it around best as possible to stop and meet and whatnot. He's got a bit of a tight schedule but I'm free most anytime. :)

Gentlemen, {oh you too ace pilot, dkff,funcop or what ever you are calling yourself now}
Meeting crazy8 last night was cool. It is nice to put a face to the name, btw how are the pedals working out for ya? I have already started checking into hotels with large enough confrence rooms in them and also wired intardnet.
Where it might happen is the reading or lancaster area, unless we can work something else out somewhere else. I will be keeping up with crazy8 and going from there.

What I would like to do is do something like they do at the dallas con and do a nasty mission . The only problem I can see with this is the affiliation with countries. Some players are dedicateed nits bish or rook.

Also I will tr6y to get all the necessary items so we can have a l
an party.

I will keep posting the updates as I get them.

Also see if I can set up a beer network.  I'll brew a few baches and well plumb the conference room so every computer station has a tap   :devil

I'm about 10 minutes outside Reading Pa. Little town called Fleetwood. Been to the Reading airshow almost every year, up until I got married. Made the mistake of getting married June 7th, didn't realize at the time that the Reading Airshow is the first weekend in June every year

Williamsport PA you know little league world series...

But I've been to the reading show and the Spit18 was awsome.

I think we all really should meet up this year...we could rent out a Holiday in or something and have a mini CON.

Say like 80 bucks a person maybe if you wanted to stay at the hotel and set up computers in a few rooms.

Or if thats too much money for some just go to the airshow and meet us there the gate fee is 30$ I believe.

I know I'd whanna go and drink some more of Vonmessas brew and I know Rude3boi would ride with me and TF15PIN.

The PA area has the highest population of AH players out of anywhere I think theres around 35 of us.

Shes coming along real nice, they have the front section already on the landing gear, and the tail booms are assembled, wing roots were on, and wings and engines were in a seprate hanger, both looked to be completed. When shes done she will be the only flying example in the world.

I think we should just set up a hotel room or 2 at the reading holiday inn and have a mini con.

And anyone that wanted to stay the whole weekend could try to get there own room for the night then.

Perhaps party all day drinking vonmesseshiehmer and skip the airshow  :devil
