Title: Request for a gifted computer programer regarding Offline missions
Post by: mthrockmor on December 07, 2010, 11:23:26 AM
I would hope, and be very grateful, if someone would clean up a few missions.

Most of the missions listed on the Wiki site no longer have valid links. Of those that do, I am unable to find the proper terrains. And of course I have already posted on the problem of renaming HTML to RES.

An ideal would be just a few missions with valid terrains, correctly named files and links that work. Between the three problem areas I am into this about 8 hours and cannot make a sinlge mission work.

Does HiTech support this? Or is this whole "offline" mission capability supported by random computer programmers?

Thanks! The first three worked though the fourth one had a message at Snips that the link was broken.

These three will help my aim, which was my goal. Again, thanks for this!!

PS Would you mind posting other links that work as these have? Thans in advance!

All of these work:

The "PeabodySimple" one is especially easy to set up.

Bosen, thanks though I am still unable to modify the file type. I have watched the video, attempted it through MS-Dos then used the 'help' feature to find another way of renaming the file with no luck.

Thanks Ranger!

Well.... someday I hope to write more, but all of this takes time (lol).

In the meantime, I'm still hoping folks will take advantage of the information here:

to modify the planes flying the missions already available. This simple technique can bring a lot of variety for very little effort.

it's on my bucket list bb.. somehow I've managed to fill up my free time with flying and making avatars lately but you and Ranger will be hearing from me when I start.  I've got a particular one in mind I want to make for myself that I doubt would have wide appeal but I'd like to 'fly' it.
