Title: Direct What? 7.0a, 8.0, or 8.0a?
Post by: Lephturn on February 08, 2001, 12:28:00 PM
Wondering what the differences are?  Check this comparison out:
 http://www.overclockercafe.com/directx_comparison.htm (http://www.overclockercafe.com/directx_comparison.htm)

Note that if DX8.0 gave you joystick issues, you might want to try 8.0a

You can grab it for Win 9x/ME here:
 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=27741 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=27741)

And for Win2k here:
 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=27742 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=27742)

As usual, if it ain't broke, I wouldn't try to fix it.   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)  However, if you are having problems 8.0a might help.

That seems like a lot of work and potential headaches to pick up less than 1 frame per second.

I'd probably stick with 7a for now.
