Hi Pimpjoe....I personally use the MS Sidewinder Precision Pro. I came from Air Warrior and really liked the yaw (rudder) on the stick....also the buttons were more than adequate for the configurations I fly with. I am on my second one...still have the first but I keep one at home and one I take on the road when I travel with the USAF....They both are running fine.

PJ,
Basic stick. A CH Flightstick Pro. It is very rugged and comes with a 3 year warrantee. It can be ordered from Egghead.com. I have had 2 over the last 5 years. The original is STILL being used by my son.

Saitek X36/35 stick and throttle, with a good throttle rudder - or you can get the X45, which is basically the same - both should be about at the price you mentioned, and are the best I've used.

IMO: Saitek sticks break down too soon. It's happened to my two of my friends who fly simulation games. Also some ppl here have posted some similar stories.
I have the MS sidewinder precision pro2 which i find very nice..the throttle is a bit too far back but I got used to it. I bought it for $50 . before that I had a gravis destroyer aftershock. I would be still using that now but it didn't have rudder control.

I went through two precision pros in a year before I got my Saitek - and now I've had it for a year and a half.

X36/35 might be nice but stay far far away from the x-45. I have a month old one which randomly quits responding. I have yet to find help for that problem in here or with Saitek who seem to not give a **** about the problem in general. It's a nice $80 dollar paperweight though.

I can put a plug in for CH stuff. I have a Combat stick, gameport version, and its been great for the past 3+ years to me. I havent missed too many days of flying in that timeframe either. I have really abused mine and its been good to me.
