So..I cut me teeth on the (now defunct) Air Warrior, and flew endless hours in Warbirds.
From what I can tell, AH is the top sim.
So.....
I'm thinking of getting back into the sim realm. I'll have to buy a new computer to do it.
Can I run Windows XP?
I have a cable modem connection to the internet - does this work with today's sims?
I have an old Thrustmaster stick, throttle and rudders. They required a gamecard. I don't even know if my gamecard works, or if Thrustmaster makes a new version for newer PC's....or even if Thrustmaster is still in business.
What else do I need to know before I plunge in a computer buy? Can I use the new GeForce 3 cards?
thanks for any help.

Hiya,
From what i know
XP is ok
Cable modem is ok
Thrustmaster i'd guess so
Geforce 3 is ok
Suggest at least a 600 cpu 32/64 meg gts2 or equiv 256 ram
That should stand you in good stead for AH
And btw Welcome
Have Fun

I think HTC's idea of a "minimum" system is way off the mark. IMO, you need a lot of computer to play AH. My system, described below is just barely playable, as long as I stay away from smoke and/or big furballs, where it turns to a slide show.

You may want to stop by http://www.thrustmaster.com (http://www.thrustmaster.com) and check into any possible compatibility issues with your TM gear and XP... I think there may be some kind of problem there.

Hey guys, a PIII600 and Geforce2 GTS with 256MB ram is perfectly playable in Aces High. Just make sure no crap is running in the background and stick to Win95 or 98. Also stick to 1024x 768.
