Title: Golly-geen auto pilot PLEASE HELP HTC
Post by: bangsbox on December 15, 2010, 03:55:07 PM
HTC all i want for chrismas now that i have my panther (and thank u for it) is auto pilot to be disabled when you hit a key, not when my joystick leans over slightly. 5 times over the past 2 weeks i have crashed in to the ocean with my 262 while i went for a cold beer/cig. I went from 1200 perks to 300 from this issue. I no all might not want this so maybe it could be an option u can turn on or off. :joystick:

EDIT: Didn't read the OP carefully enough.

Equipment issues, you can't blame HTC for them though.  Good suggestions below.

However, having a check box to have auto come off by movement of the joystick doesn't' seem like a terrible idea.

Sounds like you need some extra spring tension.  That, or are you using an FFB joystick?

Spikes in the joystick input at rest could be turning it off, which wouldn't be immediately obdvious as the cause.

The problem isn't with the game, it's with your controllers.  Your controllers are spiking enough that it will turn off the auto-pilot, try recalibrating in both Windows and in AH.  When calibrating in AH, make sure that you calibrate both the axis and then the controllers themselves to ensure proper calibration.

This, i lose calibration on my x52 because im not using a powered USB hub. put in in auto pilot, dont touch the stick and it comes out of auto pilot.

If the auto pilot is disengaging w/out touching the joystick it's likely that the joystick has developed an input spike on one of (or both) axis.
If you go to the clipboard and click on Options --> Controllers --> Map Controllers and look at the numbers next to the X/Y axis on the joystick, rudder, etc. If the numbers are holding steady then you have an input spike coming from the controller,  try recalibrating in windows then the game, if that doesn't solve it you can try going into the advanced tab and dialing in a little dampening to see you can smooth things out a bit.

Hope it helps.

Sounds to me like you need to get that beer or quick smoke before you take off in that expensive perk ride.

Oh, and what everyone else said about getting your controllers fixed.

Can only be taken off auto with proper password, fingerprint and retina scan, and voice activation.  Just don't teach them where the eject button is.   :neener:

A Don't leave the pilots chair when plane or vehicle is in motion. (Accidents just don't happen in the tower)

B Don't blame someone else for your problems.

C  As said above check your stick.

D If you have problems getting your stick sorted out give me a yell.

I believe the easiest solution for you is to either get your beer faster, get if before you take off, or just don't leave your perk ride unattended.

3rd seems to be the safest.
