Called Southern Comfort in the 44th BG
Can't find too much but i like the name :D So here's the two pictures i could find.

E or early F model. We have the B-17G only.

F models, and neither of those posted are 44th BG.
Top photo is a 305th BG B17F from the 8th AF named Southern Comfort.
Bottom one is "All American" a 97th BG B17F, 12th AF in the MTO, that was hit by a 109 with a dead pilot, nearly severing the tail. A very famous WW2 photo btw.
BTW the 44th BG was a B24 outfit. They also had a Southern Comfort.

I was reading SOMEWHERE and they said that 44th started out as early 17s the ntransfered over to 24s
