Title: In game comm!
Post by: Flifast on December 20, 2010, 06:09:44 PM
Does anyone use a different comm for game play?  Years ago we were talking about a hot chat that made the squadie check six's better with no lag?

Any squad use something like this?

From a hosting standpoint, TeamSpeak is a breeze, and uses relatively little bandwidth.  Skype, in my opinion, is a much heavier program (due to all of it's features) and the bandwidth use is relatively high (compared to TS and Ventrilo).

Ventrilo works really good, never have had issues with it unless the server goes down, that only happened once in over 2 years ive noticed while using it

The whole Unforgiven squad uses Ventrilo, crystal clear with no lag.

All for it!! But will it cause lag in the actual game because another program is running?

I've been on ventrilo and teamspeak both.  Ventrilo is honestly more easy to use and better quality.

TS3 for the win.    I have a TS server for another game and it worked way better than vent.  Vent would work great for us and then someone would get some form of lag and then vet would catch up and you would get all of the last 1 to 5 min of chat 1 to 5 min later lol...   Never had a single prob with TS3.

Never used it for AH  though maybe I should because for some reason all the 91'st guys say I sound like a 90 year old man on AH voice but I sound fine on vent and TS3.    I sounded great on AH chat a while ago when HT was messing with audio settings but then everyone else sounded like crap.
