Hi All,
I've just gone out and bought one of these beasties and I just wanted to say it's the best 70 quid I have spent in a long time.
It's a full 6 (5 satellites + subwoofer) speaker system and when linked to one of the latest 5.1 capable soundcards (Sonic Fury, Soundblaster 5.1 etc) it is bloody amazing. I have been used to a simple 2 speaker setup (Not cheap) for some time and nothing could have prepared me for the sound of the Dhog the 1st time I fired it up. Now I finally appreciate the affort which has gone into some of the sound packs put together by fcscott, staga flakbait and the rest. I know there are better sound systems out there but for the price this one can't be beaten IMO.
Just thought I would share that with ya (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Is it that good snafu?
I've got a Labtec set that cost me 80 quid a couple of years ago (subwoofer + 2 satelites). 70 pounds for a speaker system sounds too good to be true.
How much do you know about speaker systems (I know just how to turn them on (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif))?

Hi Dowding,
Well I do not profess to know anymore about speaker systems than the average bloke. But I try not to be swayed to much by apparent specifications and generally buy by recomendation or after borrowing (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) (We've all seen the 150W speakers at the local computer fair for £5. These are rated at 5W per satellite & 17W for the subwoofer but it will easily cause ripples on the surface of my inflight refreshment) (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) I decided on this particular system because a friend has been using a set for about 4 months and I could not tell any difference between it and the significantly more expensive "Videologic Crossfire" system which was my other choice. The price I paid was a special at www.redstore.com (http://www.redstore.com) On other sites I have seen them advertised for nearer £90. I do not know if using them with a non 5.1 compliant soundcard would make much difference, certainly if I set it up in a non 5.1 configuration it does sound somewhat hollow. My old speakers (Also Labtec's), Can't remember which ones, and they now reside on someone elses PC a long way away cost about £30 2 years ago which I though was a lot for 2 speakers were only 8W I think and at the time sounded great but these..... I can't praise them enough. Obviously I would not suggest anyone to part with there hard earned cash based on what I say and perhaps at £90 quid they would be an alsoran but looking at the alternatives for £70 it is no contest IMO.
