I think your blue is to bright. Here is another 352ND bird for comparison.

Agreed on the Blue. Also might want to check the wing invasion stripes. They seem a bit narrow to me. Note where your's end so close to the outboard gun and then look at where they end on the profile below. Also note where they end in relation to the star and bar and the end of the flaps. A pretty bird though :)

Look at the stripes in the second pic down in the first post for the location of the invasion stripes.
-
See I thought the blue was too bright, but I tried it on two different computers and it looked different on each. One to bright, one a little dark. I'll darken it up and try it on my desktop.
Thank you Dan for the insight on the invasion stripes, and I must say it definitely looks better with the wider stripes.
Fencer are you talking the fuselage stripes or wing. I know I need to move the fuselage stripes backwards just a tad.
-
Wing. See the gun ports on the right front quarter shot showing the right wing and nose. Good reference for stripe width and location as you have the guns, the gear doors and the wingroot all for reference.
-
Ok, I see. They are also definately not equal as the left wing has both guns in white and the right wing has one in black and gun in white. Do you agree?
-
Actually I think that is an optical illusion/trick of the camera, it looks to me that the left wing outter and right outter are about in the same place.
Also good luck on the nose color, I am redoing Cripes and I have tried about 10 different shades and still am not happy with it.
-
Seems like its either to bright or two dark. Like I said, I try it on once PC, looks good. Then I try it on my desktop with the good graphics card and looks too bright. Can't seem to win.
So far R:1 G:12 B:44 Looks close to Lyrics posted pic...but not 100% sure on it yet.

I still like it! :rock

P-51B 43-6506, HO-Y, 487th FS, 352nd FG. The pilot was Major John R. "Muscles" Bennett, whose trademark was the sharkmout painted on all his P-51's. The photo would have been taken in June or July 1944.
