:furious the German 28cm rockets that are mounted on the SDdKfz 251 have a HE damage value of 234 just like the Tiger and T34/85. However, it packs a whoppin' 45.4kg worth of TNT. i read this on a previous post and now know why when i showered a panther with rockets and hitting hit at close 2-400 yrd and got no results..but my death....please htc change this for AMERICA

400 yards isn't close enough.
If it makes you feel any better, I killed an untouched Panther with HVAR rockets from a P-38. :D

YEAH screw the rest of the world :headscratch: Seriously though? I don't get your point do you know for a fact you hit it? Or you think you did. Aiming those things is very hard I have only ever hit 1 tank with them & it shredded it at more that 2K. Granted it was early war & against a T34/76 & if I remember right I did not even get the kill & only an asist.

The impact range of the 28cm rockets, like most rockets and HE ammunition, means nothing with regards to the amount of damage it is going to produce against a target.
400 yards is actually a bit close, I bet you SdKfz 251 crew felt the explosion blast being that close. They probably had to go wipe after that volley. :)
Also, remember that the 28cm rockets were used as a barrage weapon hence when fired they were fired at a general area, not an exact point. Be thankful if you got any splash damage on the tank to begin with. In AH, the accuracy variable is minimal with those rockets, so who knows.

It isn't indestructible. The armor on the sides, top, and read are hardly that much more than a Pzr IV or Sherman. The real threat is all on the front of the Panther (gun and armor).

I know that, but the panzer IV is harder to kill than the panther. I killed 2 panthers so far and used 3 and 5 rounds. I normally use around 10 per panzer iv.

 :rofl :rofl :rofl
We now have an ally-whiner (or its beginnings). :rofl :rofl
...or would it be an eMerica-whiner (muffle the 'e' and emphasis the 'M' when saying it).

i hit it once and rest landed all around it. i had rockets set to the low angle. i think the 200+ kg of tnt should have killed him.....For America

So I can kill panthers right, but not panzers. now that's funny.

It is funny, because the Panther and the Panzer are two different beasts.

you do know that I am talking about killing panther/panzer in il2. and that from the alt, hitting on back/side is not really any different since the targets are both about the same size. So I would not really be more accurate on the panther, than i am on the panzer.

There are still differences in your attack angle, speeds, distance, projectile into target velocity, things of that nature.
Then there's the vehicle's armor, slope, thickness.
I don't know the specifics, but it's complicated as heck in terms of coding and getting it all to work.
