Hi
I have just replaced my Voodoo 3 3000 AGP with a Guillemot Hercules Geforce 2 MX and now I canīt play AH.
A few seconds(or sometimes even a minute) after getting in the cockpit my computer hangs completely. Nothing to do but to hit the reset button.
I have tried the drivers that came with the card and with Detonator 3.
Please heeeeelp

I had the same problems.
What fixed it for me was to disconnect some harddrives from the power supply. GForce 2s take quite a bit of power to run and will just lock the computer up seemingly random or worse if they dont get enough juice.
So, either get a gruntier power supply 300Watts minimum OR disconnect some peripherals like hard drives as they use alot of power.
Fail that. List your complete system specs so people know what you have etc. Also check out: http://www.geforcefaq.com/ (http://www.geforcefaq.com/)
or check out my thread from a month or so back. http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/Forum6/HTML/002215.html (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/Forum6/HTML/002215.html)
Hope something helps

Thanks Spatula.
Iīve heard that the GF cards take a lot of juice so perhaps I should invest in a 300w powersupply. Iīll read the links you provided first.

also older motherboards before jan 2000 has/had problems being able to supply enough I/O volts to the new v5/gfs cards. see if u can up your I/O volts on your MB. Skuzzy also recommends antec power supplies.

I have checked in bios but I canīt find anywhere where I can change i/o voltage.
Current i/o voltage is 3.2v(if I looked at the right numbers??).
The motherboard is 2 or 3 years old.
It looks like I will be taking the GF2 card back to the shop and continue to use my Voodoo3.

id not go back to the V3, but exchange it if u can for a GF2 MX. not as power hungery as a full bore gf2 but far better then a v3.
