Title: more things to spend perks on
Post by: Avanti on December 31, 2010, 02:21:46 AM
Yes I have used the search bar and I am well aware that they're are many threads on this

But it's true we do need more things to spend perks on

Now to my understanding the reason why this has not been added is because HTC will not allow any field upgrades/modifications
Yet the skins for the crafts/vehicles that almost everyone uses aren't 'factory standard' so to speak

So why not add it?

There would be quite a number I am assuming

200 fighter perks, 2000 bomber perks (saving up for the B-29), 80 GV perks.
I don't have any "problem" to spend them if I feel the need to.

And so you are saying we need to perk paint schemes, because players do not use them enough for perked planes & GV's? You know that perks are a gameplay balancing mechanism?

No that's not what i'm saying at all, I'm saying that they are feild mods and not 'factory standard' as everything else is in game

You know that perks are a gameplay balancing mechanism?

Yes I am aware, I thought that they would be a nice addition to the game to be about to have more options
It would also add to the realism a bit, not alot but a bit

I say we should have little rooms to walk in. That cost perks in the town or in the aircraft carrier.

I play once every week or two. Why should I have to spent my very very, very hard earned perks on, say, a P-51D?

If we start perking all the good rides (sticking to the LWMA), then how would we earn perks with the lesser rides?

Heck, according to that kind of logic we should perk all the Early war rides instead!

to be honest...i think some gun packages should be lightly perked. like the b25C's strafer option, the bf110s air rockets, the mosquitos cookie bomb. just my thoughts.

Ah, but that is merely a matter of personal opinion, wouldn't you agree?

For example, One dweeb states that dweebs fly P-51s, Spit-16s, and Nikis; while another dweeb states that only dweebs fly C202s, P-47-D25s, B5N's etc.

anybody that flies a faster plane than me is a dweeb.  anybody that flies a slower plane than me is a dweeb.  anybody that flies the same plane as me is a copycat dweeb.  that just about covers all the dweebs.

I've always maintained that the heavy bombers should have a small perk cost applied to them on the basis of the the raw amount of damage they can deliver and their ability to defend themselves as well.

Lanc/ 14k = 5 pts
B24/ 8k = 4 pts
B17/ 6k = 3 pts
B26/ 4k = 2 pts

I know some will argue then the Ju88's need a perk of the same theory is applied, but I cant find myself arguing for perking those slow climbing, slow moving, weakly defended, yet well loaded (6600 lbs. worth of ordnance) bombers.   :)

I vote for increasing the Me262 and the Me163 perk cost.  ESPECIALLY the Me163 now since we're having bananas game the game on that odd ball island map.

well i dont think any BOMBER deserves to be perked, (not even the upcoming b29) but i do think some BOMBLOADS need to be lightly perked. like the lancs 14x1000lbers. or the moss cookie bomb. or the b24's 4x2000lbers.

Bombers are here to DO damage so why perk them for doing what they are suppose to do? The B29 I hope will be perked due to the extra damage it can do.

I wouldn't consider squadron colors and ID's being added to planes and vehicles as "field modifications". That was something that had to be done, much like adding fuel and bullets  :D

I have thousands of perk points. I've been playing a long time and don't even think about "perks". I fly what I want when I want to and don't ever give it a second thought. I remember one night I used a ton of them upping a tiger time and time again in this one big battle we had going. I may have killed as many as I got, but the points don't balance that way LOL!!! noticed a dip that night!

If you have a crap load of perks and it bothers you, up some perked rides....turn fight in a furball with a 262, break a spawn camp with a tiger, strafe a CV with a 234 group a few times. Perks are easy to earn, and easy to blow.
