my first time back in nearly 3 weeks. some screens.  :devil

todays challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to fly through the fighter hangar, touch a wingtip to the snow, then continue on. crazy8s must have chosen his name for a reason.  :devil

of note, is the absolutely beautiful scenery. i do not think i've seen a nicer map to date....the twin rivers map comes close though.

 i am thankful for our map makers.

Cap awesome screenies man I did not see snow on the ground at all and the SAPP special that you posted was my first attempt the other 3 were great runs... but I am curious with running eye candy why did i not see the snow on the ground and only the trees...any way Happy New year All

ya know? that's a funny thing.....i only saw snow in the trees....and i got everything turned up........

Negative.  I believe Midi or Easyscor made it.  This is an older terrain that used to be snow covered, but when we got the new terrain system, it became a lush green jungle.  Looks like they finally found the time to update it and make it winter again.  I've got my own winter terrain (barely) started, but it will be an Eastern Front map. :salute

no.....when i was flying, it was mostly green, with some snow covered trees. this is why i chose an olive drab paint for the ole 38./.........when i watched the film in the viewer.....those screens show what i saw in the film.

Same happened to me the first night.  The terrain was green with some white trees.  Then I saw your pics from that night and thought "That's weird", so I loaded the terrain offline last night and viola', the terrain was snow covered.  Must be a weird cache issue where the new textures weren't showing up at first.  Seems fixed (for me) now though.

EDIT: Nevermind.  It's still all green in the AvA.  I'll look into this.

The terrain is built to use the ETO textures (to get rid of the palm trees) but maybe Skuzzy has to throw the over-ride switch for the AvA arena server, which always default to PTO.  It's fixed in the SEA but changing the setting might reset the AvA arena, I don't know. Anyway, that's why when you view it offline or in film, the built-in setting and textures kick in.

I've been doing most of the repairs to our old terrains, and ASW created the original textures if I'm not mistaken, but they may have been by Dux. Guess I should be including credits to the contributors in the CBM.

The Rhine winter map was one of ASW's maps. I'm actually surprised to see  it here as he never did update it when they changed, and he doesn't participate here anymore or at least hasn't for the last couple of years.

All I see online is green also...no snow. Haven't checked off line. I run the high res tex pack and have everything turned up as well.

Film viewer does show snow covered fields etc though.
