Title: do you think UCONN deserves a BCS bowl bid?
Post by: columbus on January 01, 2011, 06:36:25 PM
UCONN won the BE with a 8-4 record. do you think they deserve to be there? do you think the BCS should get rid of the auto-bid to a BCS bowl? I think the BCS needs to put in some limits to loses to be aloud in a BCS game. you shouldnt be rewarded for a mediocre record.

almost as worse as seeing seatle win the NFL west with a below .500 record

if you do that the big 10 would cry and moan.

9 out of 10 times a SEC would win in a playoff senario

anything can happen! but if theres 2 SEC teams in the playoffs i would venture to believe 1 or both to make it to the final game. i would say 9 out of 10 times.

if its a 8 team format i would think 2 SEC teams make it
if theres a 16 team format i would put 3 SEC teams are in the mix

Big East was almost as bad as the Big Ten this year for competition...that conference has no business putting a team in a BCS slot.

I truly believe the big east will rebound, just a few seasons ago it has 3 teams in the top 10(wvu, rutgers, louisville). This is just a down here for them, but good news is that syracuse is on the rise again, louisville is coming back, and they will have the co national champions TCU come in in a couple of seasons. They should really pick up UCF, that was impressive against georgia.

This.

But keep the BCS rankings for non-playoff games and determining which at-large teams get in the playoffs.  And it needs to be at least 8 teams in the playoff or its worthless, 16 would be better.  Don't tell me that's too many games, they do it in lower-division college football already.  Don't tell me its financially impossible, college football in general will make SO much money by making this change they'll be kicking themselves for not doing it sooner.  Put in the 6 BCS conference champions and the highest BCS ranked among all other teams.  Hold the games at the traditional bowl sites for the final few rounds, before then better seed hosts the game.  It would be the most epic thing in sports.

So have a 16 game playoff system then a six game wBCS?
