Occasionaly, my daughter signs on on my account and flys. She has done very well so far with this game. She's flown FSX before so flight dynamics are not new to her, however, she refuses to fly back to base as long as she has ammo and fuel. She is 10yrs old, and I think she has a better approach to the game as I do. She doesn't care about score, whether she lands kills, or gets her name in lights. She was flying today and was missing parts, had 4 kills, and when I told her she should go back she said I have bullets and gas so why should I? It hit me for a second. Should I stay in a fight if injured if I have fuel and ammo to burn? Why would she stay in a fight that would obviously hinder her in future engagements. What I have come up with is this. Some jplay the game as it is, A GAME. That is her view of things. Then I think of all the recent threads of this is too easy or to hard, and I'm reminded of, THIS IS JUST A GAME. I have learned from a 10 yr old today. She sees it as a game and doesn't care, so why should I? Why should any of us?

I let my 8yo son fly when he wants, he too helps me to keep the correct perspective on things. ;)

lol more importantly do u have any names to drop of the people who are getting shot down by a 10 year old girl? :x
No offense intended, it is just funny to imagine some man getting po'd saying "wow who was that guy?" and on the other end of the monitor some little girl saying "weee, ok ima go play with my barbies now"

Just be carefull having the young ones playing. There are a few on this game, that would send inappropriate PM's (I believe these people should be banned immediately, but that's a different thread). Hate to see your daughter run across that. Other then that have fun is the reason for playing a game. :aok
:salute

^ yeah those meanies

Thats great that your kids are playing. I will add that 200 has become a cesspool of bad language, sexual comments, etc. No longer something your kids should be reading.. I have only been playing almost two years and have seen the change in the antics on 200.. PM's are even worse.. :salute
I agree with Big Rat, they should be banned when caught doing it....

don't matter how old the pilot is skill has no age. so glad you can share this game with your kid. wish mine were interested.

I have a hard time turning back regardless of damage to the plain, except for when I'm pilot wounded. I love gliding deadstick back to base and juuuust making it. Such a nice feeling.
Also, I think it's really outstanding that your 10 year old daughter can get 4 kills in one hop!

I think kids are better at this stuff than adults. They grow up nowadays playing video games.. My 14 year old daughter played with me for a few hours one night. She was a natural in a tank.. Makes sense I guess considering that she was playing Nintendo and using a PC at the age of 2..

My daughter is definately my daughter, tries to fly here and fails repeatedly.
Mind you she wants to be a veterinarian not a fighter pilot so who cares. :aok
-
I literally never go into a fight expecting to survive (on AH not RL lol) - because I suck - and for that reason I stay until I am can no longer fight. I chased some planes with a PW until my pilot eventually died. :)
It's sad...she's 10...and she does better than me :P :aok
-
Unfortunately, some may never understand.
<S> To your daughter. I think I'll start flying with the same mentality.
-
This is debatable to me, and I think it's because I like the simulation aspect of the game. However, I tend to take my flight sim games more serious than others. For example; in FSX, I do the whole virtual airline bit. Not sure why I think it's fun, but I most certainly do! :joystick:
To each his (or her) own.

I beat a guy once who told me on 200 his daughter was at the controls so it didn't count doubting his story I told him to reup himself this time, beat him again and said he flys just like a little girl :lol
and no it was not the op :D
-
I would trust that little girl with my life, cause she has saved my virtual one enough times :D :rock

Very intelligent child, she is.( Your epiphany seems a tad late..ergo, I suspect your daughter takes after your wife.. (JK) :bolt:

:aok WTG young one!!

try playing a ps3 game with a child. they catch on so fast they easily own me; mastering all those buttons and playing for the fun of imagination.
-
I fly the game as a simulation and therefore would try to RTB and land as that was the train of thought in WW2.

1. I obviously have matured to the level of a 10 year old and stuck there when I played... don't know how many squaddies would scream - don't turn back.. your never gonna get out of there..as I would giggle maniacally diving down into a for sure gangbang... lol
2. Hopefully the nitwits who need to rant and rave with inappropriate language and innuendos read this and realize how many little kids are reading the crap being spewed by immature chest thumpers.
my 2 cents

Out of the mouths of babes. I'll tell you that I can't count the times that my 5 year old has humbled me by the things she has said. They have no guile, no bias, no filters that we adults have learned to view our world with. Just pure youthful joy at the opportunity available.
-
Depending the mood I'm in, if Im mad I I r the biggest run/HO(I'll shoot from 1.5k) and if I'm just having a normal day I'll fight all day long
-
What your daughter realizes is that unless you keel over dead in your computer chair, you are going to survive every fight you ever get into in AH. So why not stay in there and fight? :)
I can't count the times where I've waded back into a fight I might have survived to get the train of red of a guy who is trying to get out. Next thing I know, I'm meeting him rtb while I'm headed back to the fight from our field :)
Didn't hurt a bit either!

Mild Hijack
Just keep an eye on the kids when you let them use your game accounts. I let my grandchildren have a go on my world of tanks account, I could hear maniacal laughing coming from my office and went to check what was going on, they had started a team killing war and I was lucky not to get banned.

Haha, well, I know Canackas daughter loves the mossie, if you get shot down by a Mosquito and it says Canacka, you know who you were killed by. :airplane:

A little confused here. Care about what? Your daughter got it right. It is a game but how can you play any game if you don;t care? Can you play basket ball and not care about scoring? Will you just quit the game because you are getting sweaty and a little tired? Of coarse you stay if you have bullets and fuel but you still play to win even though you may have some disadvantage.
I think every one cares. About different things maybe, but they all care about the outcome of what ever they were set out to do. The only people claiming to not really care are the ones that cant take losing. Like it or not, every game is a competition. Even if you are just competing against your self. Only way I see for someone to log in and waste an hour of his life doing something he does not care about is if he likes the graphics so match and he is just site seeing lol. But in that case, he would care about the graphics lol.
<S> to your kid for being competitive and challenging herself, even if it is just a game.
Going for BBall on Saturday. I ll just sit in the middle of the court and tell them I don;t care cause it is just a game. See how many <S> I get :lol

By now most of the Community knows my 9 year old son was cussed out on private vox by an amazinhunk when he got a kill at 5 years old.
Knowing that you'll find "Karaya" in the TA, that is my son. I will now train him and hope morfiend and others watch over him and pitch in training him.
I'll stay up with one cannon left and do my best to clear squaddies and friends.

whoever curses at a child deserves to be punched in the throat and watch them choke for their air. Then punch them again just to laugh.

well we agree on at least one thing Bip..

Mila has had da couple of rather nasty PM's. She doesn't tune to 200 since her dad usually turns it off when she is playing. SHe is a good girl and we enjoy her flying with us when her dad is away or she's just having a sortie or 2 while he's afk.
As C.O. of the squad she's in I will say this....If she were to get some nasty PM's from someone and I get a hold of the screenies...I'll do my best to get them to HT and explain the circumstances. Not that anything would happen...but it could.
Not chest thumping or anything of the sorts....she's just a kid...has the rigt attitude and all of us in the squad look out for her when we can. No room for messages other than a <S>!!!
