Don't tell in a slow turning fight an fm2 can ALWAYS out-turning a spit 16 !
Best turning rate! True?
:salute

It should... the spit16 is much better in the vertical against the FM2, with wep the difference is even more pronounced.

The Fm-2 is one of the funnest planes to fly. Many see it and think it's an easy kill. My best single sortie in one was 12 but anyone with a sense of the game can get 4.
It's slightly slow to climb, once level it picks up speed nicely, in a dive it gains speed quickly and holds on to it. The wep is very affective as is the 4 50's it carries. Set the convergence properly and you will make easy kills (275 and 300 are nice when they criss cross) Don't be afraid to take a few bullets either, it's one of the toughest planes in the set.
The best part of the plane is it's turning capability, it's the American zeke without the compression. The view from the cockpit is above average and the controls are very smooth.
This is an old convergence I used. Slightly shorten then what I wrote.

^ How good could it be with only one prop blade? :bolt:

That's actually a bat, because of the turnrate fights tends to get very close.. :rock

The only negative I'll give the FM-2 is the lack of speed. You aren't going to catch most of the common Late War rides without careful planning, and it's hard to disengage if you're in over your head as well.
It's funny as hell schooling the Spit dweebs who think they can out-turn everything, tho.

Del ... what most forget, the FM2 is not to bad in the vertical too ... add to the equation that those .50 cals will reach out and spank you from long distance. I have had many a foe think that going to the vertical was gonna get them out of hot water ... only to have their wing(s) ripped off from the .50 cal buzz saws.
I have all my guns set at 450.

HEEEEREEEE'S WILDCAT!!!!
one more thing to say about the wildcat is how well it flys at low speeds. i have, with full flaps, gone as low as 75 mph and still sustained flight. the flaps are a great tool in a dogfight, the only drawback being that you need to be below 175 mph to use em.

Fun but oh so slooooow.
My best sortie in an FM2 was 7 defending an airfield.
I think I might still have a film of me almost but not quite out-turning and FM2 in a Spit XVI in the DA. It was close. I'll see if I can dig it up.
