Title: That voice in my ears
Post by: pembquist on January 10, 2011, 02:59:42 PM
Can someone explain the "Base under attack" voice?  I'm never quite sure which base it is talking about,(base I took off from, base I'm flying towards, base I'm attacking etc.,) or if its paranoid.  I assumed it would go off whenever a plane passed the radar ring,(even if radar down,) or an enemy vehicle spawned.  I assumed that the base or town would be blinking when this happened.  Sometimes it doesn't seem like this is what is happening, can someone explain how it really works?

Also, is it possible to fly under radar?  Is it possible to fly under the base attack blinker or the voice?  Do mountains block radar at all?

Thankyou all.

It is when any new base (on your side) finds a radar contact  as in when the base starts flashing...no specific base just a newly flashed one...  NOE flights will also make a base flash without showing dot dar... usually just inside the Dar ring ... this is also the same for GV's when they get within range....not sure what that is though

Is it possible to fly under radar? Yes is possible. Good luck!

Mountains don't block radar.

Bases flash and voice warning of close enemy contact is set out to a few miles from friendly bases (I don't remember the exact range, maybe 3 miles?)

That other voice inside your ears is your common sense.  It says things like:

"Shouldn't you up from a base that isn't capped?"

"You really should throttle back."

"Do you really want to try climbing with that K4?"

"Maybe now would be a good time to extend and escape."

You should listen to that voice.

About the question.

This is no doubt one of the few mystery in the universe.

You can hear the "base under attack" voice but it is up to you to find which base.
