Just set up my old pc for my kids. They are 4 & 5. I want to download some free games for their age group off the net on my pc and then install them on theirs. Their pc will not be hooked up to the internet. So, does anyone know of any free games for kids I can download & install without needing an internet connection after installing? I googled "free kids games" but all I find are 30 minute trials and then you have to buy them. I'm just looking for some easy stuff that kids their age might enjoy. Any of you with youngsters have any recommendations?

Dang
I had some age appropriate edutainment games until about six months ago. Sorry Ranger but I'll keep my eyes open.

my 2 youngest play starfall alot.
-
I know quite a few but they are all online only. Don't know of any offline ones, sorry

There are ways to download flash games from the net and make them work offline though.

I dunno, but when I was 5, I played the heck out of Duke Nukem. The Hot dog game is downloadable I think and is also somewhat educational. I'll check some more out, though.

I wouldnt know. My daughter hates games. She would rather blow my money at the mall. :furious :cry

I think the old Sims games are free now (Sim city, Sim rainforest, other random sim things).

Thanks for the help fellas. My girls appreciate it. :salute

Amazon has some free downloadable games - arcade stuff, but safe and easy to pass the time with.
Also, consider some used game sites - like CDromUSa.com. Although not free, you can get some GREAT buys for older games. I picked up Combat Mission Barbarossa to Berlin for $8.50 including shipping, and I bet there are some compilations that would get you a huge library for minimal cost.

Ranger,
I have a copy of The Sims 2 if you fancy it. I don't play it anymore so if you're interested PM me.
Best of luck mate

I wished i remembered where i got it from but I downloaded a remake that was identical to the original donkey kong. It had the original graphics and levels..
I played the heck out of it for about 2 weeks lol. But i'm 19 so IdK if it would be playable for kids that age

Just some things I have found for my kids at various places. Check out Abandonware and Freeware. They have a lot of the older DOS games and many of the old Atari, Intellivision and Commedore console games for PC. Remember the old Arcade game consoles for use on your TV from back in the 80's? Lots of those can be had and they are pretty appropriate for kids that young.

Get them an iPad, plenty of free games for young kids there. My daughter loves all the different insect games there.
Even the paid versions are cheap like 1-3 dollars each.

Heck, I was content with the built-in pinball game until the first Call of Duty came out on computer!
Ranger, I'm sure they'd like The Sims type games. My little sister played the heck out Sims.
The original games are probably also a good bet. You know, games like Tetris! Fun soundtrack,
endless hoardes of silly shaped blocks.
If you have a little girl, definitely do NOT get her one of the barbie games! They're poorly made,
and are absolutely frustrating! You'll be playing them more than your daughter, simply to help her
finish it. I speak from experience :o
Once you fall in love with the Tetris theme, you'll never go back! :P

I no this isn't what your looking for but I know there are a few you can download and play off line. If you decided to to have internet hooked up to there computer download Kidzui Browser, It's all kid games learnig from reading fun math games to fill in the blank stories dress up games for girls things kids make out of paper easy fun foods for kids arts crafts kids can do but yes there is thousands of all kid games. The best part you can control everything they do you also can get E-mails telling you what your kids are playing and track there scores on the learning games it is the safest I found for my three young kids it is seperate from other browsers so they never can get on web sites they are not to be on and there are no pop up adds.
So if you decide to have interenet for them try Kidzui Browser, and there are some games you can download and play off line.

Consider search of "abandonware" sites too.
