Canadian radio stations have been warned to censor the 1985 Dire Straits hit Money for Nothing, after a complaint the lyrics of the Grammy Award-winning song are derogatory to gay men.

A St. John's, Newfoundland, station should have edited the song to remove the word "f.a.g.o.t" because it violates Canada's human rights standards, according to ruling this week by the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council.

A unnamed listener to OZ FM in the Atlantic Coast province complained to the industry watchdog after hearing the song, which features Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler and fellow rock star Sting.

The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 (Russian: Микоян и Гуревич МиГ-15) was a jet fighter developed for the USSR by Artem Mikoyan and Mikhail Gurevich. The MiG-15 was one of the first successful swept-wing jet fighters, and it achieved fame in the skies over Korea, where early in the war, it outclassed all straight-winged enemy fighters in daylight. The MiG-15 also served as the starting point for development of the more advanced MiG-17 which was still an effective threat to supersonic American fighters over North Vietnam in the 1960s. The MiG-15 is believed to have been one of the most widely produced jet aircraft ever made, with over 12,000 built. Licensed foreign production perhaps raised the total to over 18,000.[1] The MiG-15 is often mentioned along with the North American F-86 Sabre in lists of the best fighter aircraft of the Korean War and in comparison with fighters of other eras.[2]
NATO and USAF reporting names were as follows:
MiG-15: NATO reporting name "f.a.g.o.t",[3] USAF/DoD reporting name "Type 14".
MiG-15P: NATO reporting name "f.a.g.o.t",[3] USAF/DoD reporting name "Type 19".
MiG-15UTI: NATO reporting name "Midget",[5] USAF/DoD reporting name "Type 29".

Is it the Mig 15 "Prefers Alternate Lifestyle Man" and the Mig 15 "vertical challenged person"?

(skuzzy apologies in advance for the minor bbs code bypass)

I guess Canadians don't like classical music much either since blowing a f.a.g.o.t. (musical instrument) on public should be extra illegal there?

The irony is they don't get the whole point of the song is parodying and satirizing the narrow minded people who are saying that and thinking that way.

Its the same thing that happens down here with "Huckleberry Finn".  They just don't get the joke.

World's full of tards, both sides of the border.
