Title: FW head position
Post by: Hollywood on January 19, 2011, 10:49:34 AM
In the FW series, I notice that I cannot move my head position sideways in the up back view to avoid the center post.

I can.

Just tried it offline with no problems.

Explain you're procedure so we can correct what you're doing wrong.

Select plane.
Hold  NUMPAD 2 and 5 key at the same time (this is the up and back view).
While holding the numpad keys, use the Up/Down arrow keys to move view in and out.
While holding the numpad keys, move the view left and right using the left/right arrow keys.
When you get the view you like the F10 key locks it in.

Blooz:  I am doing exactly what you are except that I have the keys remapped.  The remapped keys work fine in other planes and in other views on the FW.

Need to recheck your mapping then I guess.

Try deleting the settings for that plane in C:\HiTech Creations\Aces High\settings

Blooz: the key mappings work in all other planes that I have tried and in all other head positions on the FW and TA152.

Superfly: good idea but it didn't work.

How would I reset my key mappings to default?  I want to keep my controller settings.

I don't think there's a one button reset to default option, so this chart can help you set things back to default albeit one at a time.

I am thinking more about getting back to a pristine configuration file to sidestep the obscure bug I seem to have invoked.  I guess what I need to know is what file do I need to replace and where can I get an original from?
