You do relies that 2/3 of the tanks ingame are perked? This will be addin more to that list, and it probaly won't ever get added because it's a tank destroyer. Bar=M18 :noid

this is actualy used as infantry support, the 75+76 mm shermans are both, better for tank vs tank work, I am not sure if the M4 105 even had AP ammunition so it would hardly be worthy of perks

even as HE, wouldnt a 105mm shell be enough to make a tiger worried?

only to track it, by the time that happened the sherman would be long gone plus I would imagine that this gun would be the the Mk 108 of GV's

and if you want a Perked US tank, I would say add the M4A3E2 Sherman "Jumbo"

"The Sherman 105s appeared in several different variants although the main version was the purpose produced M4A3/105 there were several other models - the M4A3E2 Jumbo which was a version with massively increased armour intended to be used as an assault tank in the advance to the Rhine phase of the war, the M4A3E9 which was a late model Sherman differing only significantly by the substitution of the 105mm howitzer. There were some conversions of earlier models (M4/105 in particular) especially carried out by the Canadians and British.
The Jumbo was an assault tank, the other 105 models are probably best described collectively as CS (close support) tanks, being used to attack bunkers, anti-tank guns and dug in infantry. This vehicle would only be used as SP artillery in extreme cases, that job being largely taken on by the M7 Priest and similar vehicles.
The 105mm howitzer on the Shermans (M101/M4/M52 mount) was supplied with a HEAT round although i can find no evidence of it being used, the HEAT rounds were definitely issued for the field carriage version of the same gun so it is likely the tanks carried at least a few and a penetration of approx 100mm of armour would have made this a useful round, especially in Sherman units without the 17-pounder Firefly or the 3-inch M10 in support. The most common rounds fired were HE and smoke, including coloured smoke rounds. I have seen rumours of a canister round for this gun, but no evidence so far - it seems unlikely in Europe as the Germans in the late war period if ever were not likely to try mass infantry assaults. perhaps was a field mod (suspect marines in pacific theatre if so) but most likely this was a mis-ident of a later NATO round."

I am going to stop you at the part where you included the Jumbo with other 105mm Shermans, the Jumbo was equiped with a 75mm gun, and almost near the end of the war some were equiped with a 76mm gun

thats just a quote  someone else said that found on the internet, if he 105mm has HEAT rounds, wouldnt that make it worthy enough to engage other tank units?

Doesn't the E in the name stand for "Experimental"? The 105 HE would be a great town killer, but I'd much rather use a higher velocity kinetic round for knocking out tanks.

I dont know but the Jumbo saw service so I would doubt it, It could be a sub variant designation ie Fw 190 A-8/U4 a variant of the variant if you will

and again, that same person said the Jumbo had a 105 so the Sherman 105 may or may not have been equiped with HEAT rounds

P.S did the Field gun versions of the 105 even have HEAT rounds? I have never heard of them being used as an AT gun

I'm a tanker by training: M60A3 then M1A1. I love tanks, everything about them is just sexy. That being said, this game is about Aces High in the air, not tankers running over endangered turtles at Fort Irwin.

Enough of the tanks is my vote. Actually, we should have as many tanks as we have WW1 planes. To be generous lets go with the Panzer, Panther, Tiger, T-34, both shermans and the M-3 for troops. After that, we need more noobs in the sky to point my guns at. Dump the rest of them, and while we are at it spend the time and energy on the P-61 Black Widow. And we should limit time in the tank to no more than 15 minutes a week per flyer.

Just say'n....

Boo

PS Dump the whirblewind as well. And does anyone even play with the Ostwind?

some came equiped with HEAT rounds but there is no recorded instance of the being used. from all the accounts ive found this model was mainly used as artillery but im sure some engaged heavy tanks.

If you knew how terrible that gun is you would not have posted this

No, not negativity just cheeky humor. I know they aren't going to dump tanks, etc but I sure like having more targets in the sky. I would have used some of the icons above to lessen the tone but not sure which one does the trick. That's why I posted the 'range is open' line. Fire away.

How about these icons to lesson the mood?

 :noid :rock

And of course what its all about... :airplane:

The Sherman 105 would make a great support tank IMO. It would be a heavy town buster / base attacker with the ability to lay down smoke fields at long range.

If ya want to use the 105, just up a LVT.  I don't see where this sherman would be all that different (another tank sees you and you're dead anyway).

slightly better armor, plus hopefully it would come with HEAT rounds.

Pyro, may or may not have said it at the convention........   But I would need an attendee to confirm that.

I'm all for adding more vehicles based on the chassis we currently have.  If one were to count, I bet AH could easily add another 20 gv's just by adding in different variants (legit variant, that is) of the M3 half-track, SdKfz 251, and M4 Sherman.

Nope, your wrong sir.

Pyro said it.

I could care less about you freaking out.
FYI if I had you pestering me about it I'd probably take the easy way out and give you the same answer Pyro did.

But the fact is that is what he said.

But I really don't expect you to believe me.
