Gee... really? F4u1s, P38Gs, P47D11s and B-25s against mostly A6M2s and a few A6M5s and a few Ki61s thrown in?

Look, I know sometimes you all strive for historical accuracy... but the gameplay balance is wholly lacking in this planeset.

Just an unsollicited opinion...  :noid

EDIT: P.S. To confirm the designer's notes (Warloc) you are correct that the Ki-61 would not be a fighter bomber. They never carried any bombs. They had an air bursting phosphorous bomb meant to be used against bombers, but were never ground attackers.

Sweet looking ride. Something from IL2:1946 I take?

The P-47 was a late addition to the design representing Col. Kearbys unit and some other issues like ord restrictions, mission issues, and some of the min-max #s are also still being discussed and altered. It will be as balanced a setup in the final version as any other design we have done. If you want to provide some constructive feedback thats never an issue with me. Feel free.

Only good thing is, in the scoring Axis has a small advantage. But hey, can we really, truly be surprised Axis? We should be used to it by now. We knew going in in every scenario or campaign that we have the disadvantage.

You know I don't know if its because I have flown axis for a year now but I was amped just to see the ki-61 in a pacific scenario set before 1945.

Glad to be headed back to the Pacific. It was cold on the Russian front    :airplane:

:headscratch: Are you freaking kidding us. Is your memory so short that you can't remember the last 3 weeks. Where the Axis clearly had the advantage in most of the aircraft.

Are you volunteering to fly the A6M2 against the P-38G, the F4u1, and the P-47D11?

Because that's what it just sounded like to me...  :noid

Bull hockey, your comment as well as the one above make a blanket statement that these events are not competitive for the axis. The truth is that the axis planeset, particularly the European events are as equal if not superior at times to the allied plane set.  It is the Pacific events where there is some validity to the above complaints, mainly when the Am6-2 is involved.

Allies have the advantage in almost every scenario, when that is not the fact allied pilots complain hard.

Errr have sides even been decided?

I don't care what side I'm on, I think axis got the short straw.

Yes, but I have seen much worse. To me this is a good matchup. Obviously if you asked an Allied squad to fly Axis this FSO, they would think the opposite. But I am a Luftwhiner, I am used to it.

About January FSO, it is Eastern Front which means Axis has advantage. I will have you know the last Eastern Front FSO was January 2010. So trust me, they do not let that happen often :) and for good reason "Check Final Scores"

Just got done with 2nd frame of dillingers wake, believe me the Axis were well represented, weve been in b25s for both frames so far and have been wiped out each time. its not as lopsided as it would seem

Well the B-25s that made about 4-5 passes over A18 ruled the sky from my perspective.

Rather large number of P-38s present in frame 2 there... Somebody might want to check their math. Seems a tad more than allowed (*cough*31*cough*)

I think the definite power in this setup is tilted all the way to the allied side. They "only" had 20 f4fs (and those were mostly all on the CJ's) and only 21 P-39s.... Our "max # used" planes were all a far cry from the allied "max # used" planes in performance and firepower and survivability.

There's just no real way we can be expected to get the same job done with nearly-equal balance of players with such significantly inferior planes.

I dare you to have a A6M5b take out and entire formation of B-25Cs in 1 pass. I dare you! You'll run out of ammo on the first one!

All you need to do is catch them re-arming, then its all down hill from there!

I loved frame 2, I couldnt find a match for me in an A6M5b, lots of F4U's just ran away, haha I took some parts off of an F4U and he spiral dived away like an idiot (I think he was trying to make me think that I killed him :P ) i say gimme a J2 and bring on the B29's baby

At least you got to fire a shot in anger. I only pulled the trigger to show Dweeb where I was after I got separated.
