hey skuzzy, i went to the DA this morning, but every time i click on the hanger the game freezes. its done it three times. i usually have to open task manager to end the game.(and even then it takes about 5 mins to get the game to truly exit from the white screen). how do i get this to stop? :(

its still doing it, i can access the MA fine, but i freeze every time i click the hanger button in the DA

Do you have an older version of the high resolution texture package installed?
Set the games "Maximum Texture Size" to 256 and see if that fixes it.

Possibly a corrupt DA map file? Not sure the name of the file, but it should be easy to figure out in your terrains folder. Maybe deleting it so it will re-download next time will fix the problem.

well, i do have avg anti-virus. its never affected the game before tho. i DID recently download the company of hero's game. could that of affected my ah settings in any way?

AVG has been known to interfere with the game. Other games should not impact us, unless they are replacing system files.

I use Norton and everytime before I start up I turn it on Silent Mode. Helps a little. Make sure if you get off the game and go onto the internet, that you turn it back on.

hey skuzzy whatever this is thats giving me this problem seems to be spreading, before no other arena was doing this except the DA hangers. now my game freezes if i go into EW and click on a plane to use. its done it three times so far.plus its also still doing the DA hanger freeze. i had avg turned off when i was trying these things.
could it possably be a virus thats causing these things to happen?

i scanned my computer and it said no viruses detected.
i have no clue what to do next :( pretty much i cant fly in the DA or EW.

you posted you use AVG Anti-virus on your PC
this has been known to post AH files as being "False-Positive", meaning AVG is thinking that Aces High or some Aces high files or terrain.res files or even patch updates are infected or are viruses...... when we all know they are not
if your AVG accidently marked one or some of your AH files as being malware/infected/a virus and kicked them out or quarantined them.... it would be fouling certian things up in the game or could foul everything up totally.....
some suggestions would be.... turn off the AVG anti-virus and go and download the Dueling arena Terrain.res file or better yet
go to your C:\hitech creations\Aces High\terrains\ folder and delete your terrains
then log into Aces high and let it re-download the terrain.res files to see if this clears it up for you......
outside of that would be to back up your settings folder, your sights folder and any other folder you may need and do a complete un-install of Aces high then re download Aces High game and do a completely fresh install............ but leave the AVG anti-virus turned off while doing so......

just go ahead and delete all the terrain name.res files in the ahiiterr folder
the DA terrain is called ahdueling.res

you can manually download all the terrains and install them yourself....... or the game will automatically download and install the terrains for you when you click on any arena that might have a new terrain loaded that you do not have in your ahiiterr folder

tried it just now (deleted the dueling terrain, turned avg off, went on aceshigh and redownloaded it) still doing it.
is my only option now to re-install the game? :(

I honestly can not give that an Yes or a No answer.......
go to www.ESET.com and use their online virus scanner to double check that you do not have a virus ( I am assuming you checked with your AVG antivirus software you already have installed )
their could be any number of things that could be the problem causing your PC to freeze up in the DA or freeze up in the EWA when selecting a plane......
it could be as simple as you have to many processes running in the back ground while you are playing Aces high, to something as bad as one of those "Root Kit Viruses" deeply inbedded into your OS or memory or whatever....
did you provide a DXDIAG report for Skuzzy or anyone to look at??? I don't call seeing one....... what you are thinking is a DA Bug as you titled this thread, could actually be a bloated Windows OS.......
is time to go back to square one with reporting the issue. and copy & paste a DXDIAG of your PC system
also go ahead and double check your anti-virus program by going to www.ESET.com and using their free online scanner....
