The original B5N2 "Kate" torpedo bomber had torpedoes with a black head (front of torpedo), while in the game, the torpedo has a red head. To make matters worse, it's shown as an "800kg Torpedo" when it should be the "Type 91 Torpedo". The G4M1 has it, but Y not the B5N2. During WWII, BOTH the B5N2 & G4M1 carried the same torpedo: The Type 91 Torpedo. This torpedo has a black front instead of a red one as shown in the game. I know the G4M1 has the correct torpedo, but the B5N2 doesn't. Can somebody fix this?

I'll buy you a bucket of black paint. Get to work :)

HTC researches things pretty well, but they do make mistakes. Site your sources and I'm sure they will check them out, but does just post "this is how I think it should be"

I've seen the correct torpedo on almost EVERY source, including the movies Tora Tora Tora (1970) & Pearl Harbor (2001).

Then cite some, but probably not movies.

Yet this historical photo shows one taking off with a solid color torpedo so that disproves the black or red theory... :bhead :salute

However I do have to agree with you that they used the Type 91 aerial torpedoes which weighed 838kg, which was the only type of aerial torpedo used by Imperial Japan during that time. :salute

Well if Hollywood did it, it must be accurate. :ahand

I really need to do work at work.lol Found this interesting...
"Coloration: Naval Operational torpedoes were left in a bare metal condition and coated with a light film of oil. The casings were forged steel. The latex sheath looks like it is creamy white. Props were Sk or Vg steel with the Mod 3 (1942) onward. Pre Mod 3 units had bronze props. Training torpedoes appear to be a light grey in photographs. Plywood fins were unpainted, and occasionally the Box type had two sets of straps, acting as struts. I [sic] have not found evidence that the warheads were painted red or other than I have indicated."

So the only deferents is the 38kg and the color? :headscratch:

Movies are notorious for getting more stuff wrong than they do for getting it right. NEVER use a movie or TV show as a source. Wikipedia is the next thing on the list to NEVER use as a source. Information there can be changed by anyone and proof is not needed.
Military documents and pictures are what is best. If you have them, post them or a link to them, if not, you have no proof and the info HTC has dug up is what they will go with.

We just added that torpedo shape when the G4M came out and haven't gotten around to retrofitting it back to the B5N yet.

I figured that would be the case. :aok
Same for the Ki-67 as well we can presume? :)

I figured it was something as simple as one type of torpedo on all planes just to save time on programming. Darn, better start checking the bombs for accuracy... :bhead :salute
