You know that you need a flight jacket for Aces High, to sew your AH patches on, for your AH buttons, to wear in your car as you pretend that the truck ahead of you is an enemy bomber that you're lining up on.
But what about the cost? Well, now you don't have to worry about that.
Your pal Brooke has gone through the progression of USAAF/USAF flight jackets and found prices that match just about any budget, from $35 for a reasonably decent MA-1 on up to the stratosphere for Buzz Rickson A-2's, and everything in between.
Now you can nerd out on any budget:

No, I'm not selling stuff. I'm just a player, and my profession is not selling garments (it's biotech). I put up some research on various flight jackets for various budgets for folks who might want a flight jacket to put things like scenario patches onto.
Think of it like a discussion of various joysticks, graphics cards, computers, etc., where the players discussing it aren't resellers or vendors but discussing something that the AH community uses or has an interest in.
Like discussions such as:
As for the camera itself, I believe cheaper is better. As I said above, I'm using a PS2 EYETOY which cost $15 new a few years ago and doesn't have an IR filter (not that I'm using IR).
Just opinions of the merits of one vs. another, bang for the buck, etc.

I once saw a B-15 jacket. It had a small tear in the back. The tear is where the jacket caught as the owner bailed out of his B-24 over Europe. He also had his wooden spoon and fork he carved so he would have something to eat with in the Stalag.
I took him and his family for a ride in the B-24 and let him fly it a while. It was one of the better days.

That is awesome!
If you ever happen to get back into piloting the Collings B-24 and happen to be flying it in Seattle, please, please let me know. (And if you aren't piloting a B-24 and happen to be in Seattle, let me know anyway, and I'll buy you dinner and a beer to hear more of your awesome stories. :) )

Yeah . . . :) I probably will, as I have two twin daughters born recently, and it is a hassle with them grabbing my hair. Of course, I will then lose my Samson-like strength. :aok

Thanks Brooke. Appreciate the attention to detail - and with a birthday coming up, you've given this guy who doesn't really want anything...something to want!
