Funny, I saw a Dora plow into the back of my own Dora last night, except I got the collision message (he received none, that I was notified about) and missing half-wing.   :furious

Another longwinded whine to HTC on the collision model was recorded.

He recieved no such message because on his end there was no collision, only a near miss. Where you are relative to him on your screen is not the same as where he is relative to you on his screen. It's due to lag. It is a fact of life.

Aware of it, but to acuratley describe it will make me sounds mad, it was lag that jibbed me but there wasn't any other sign of any lag or network issues leading up to it so it was either a fluke/spike or there really wasn't any lag.

As we were leading up to the colision, manuevering quickly and rapidly without any lag issues until he plowed into my rear while I was doing a rapid diving barrel roll that he was opting to follow me through, litteraly.  His plane never warped on my screen and there were not network jerks/pauses, he was litteraly on my tail so close during the last maneuver for a few seconds that I could reach back and touch him and I was wondering how he hadn't gotten a colision already (usualy I do by then).  As soon as I stopped rolling to begin a sharp turn, bam the colision happened.  So I figure "lag" is what positioned his plane into or infront of my plane without any colision on his end and then caused my plane's front end (on the wing-tip) to register a colision.  Very erkked that I seem to be the only player in this game that can't get to within 100' or less on someones 6 because of collisions, but this fellow here got all the way to one-foot infront of me without anything.

There always is lag. It's not a network issue, but the nature of the beast. Signals need time to travel from him to you and other way round. That's the kind of lag we all have to deal with. The actual amount depends on your both relative distance/signal travel time to the server. When both player are far away (Australia/Europe/...) it's of course bigger than with both players sitting in Texas.

I should of more accordingly stated "it was either a fluke/spike or there really-was-signifigant-lag-during-what-apeared-to be-a-minimal-delayed-connection-on-both-our-parts-to-the-central-server".  It's hard to acuratley explain my frustrations with it because I have a pretty good and humble understanding of the current collision system.  In an extremely close and fast engagement going on between you and another player, so close a distance and reactions and counters so fast that lag or network delays are clear and obvious to one or both of you (and as I believe it based off that assumption and the characterstics displayed during the intital fight: impossible we had _that_ much lag on either our ends), I had this occur to me at the conclusion of such a fast and close-distance engagement that I do not believe either my oponent or myself were experiencing anything but a good and solid network connection to the server.  However, going from a very good connection to having a drop in it or a spike on either of our ends or the servers must of caused it, it's possible, just frustrating and hard to believe (especialy for me because I was forcing the overshoot and about to have my turn at the chase) that such a good and hard+fast fight went awry in a heartbeat, but that's what random random lag spikes are about, being random.
