easily over 12" here, just got done spending an hour digging my car out after the snow plow went by and threw a mountain on top of it :furious
-
over 16in..work closed until next week.I deliver lumber to new home builders..
-
1/2 or so of freezing rain here and a dusting of snow. Getting a little better right now
-
3/4 to 1" of ice.....trees down, power outages everywhere.
Good here, Power, heat and water......plus wife baked all day, time to loosen up the belt :aok
-
6 inches of sleet pebbles. The only actual "snow" came today, or Monday.
-
2'' ice.
-
Thin layer of ice, not bad - 0.1 - 0.2". Then 8 inches snow, some sleet, and a nice ice crust atop the snow. Then another inch of snow.
Lots closed down, but not feeling like a blizzard. And driving was no big deal for those literate in "winter".
-
Snow? What is this snow you talk of?
Bit chilly at nights here (40 odd degree's) but the days are pretty nice

No snow here :neener:

I got mist.
-
We have not a flake to speak of except a slight flurry at around 12.
-
Only a couple of inches of snow on top of about 16 to 18 inches of ice. I dunno thats just an estimate.
:furious,

No snow....79 and sunshine in Ormond Beach Fl

Damnit! All we got here is about an inch of ice and rain. I Wanted the snow. I wanted the heart and soul of the storm. Been a good winter here weather wise. Havent seen my front lawn since Christmas day, But all this storm did was pack down and melt all that wonderful white stuff. See I dont mind winter as long as it snows. But just for it to be cold, gray and dead. I hate that. So bring on the snow I say!
This is the winter. Its the north east. Its SUPPOSED to flipping snow! If I didnt want to deal with snow regularly I'd do what I tell all the rest of the snow whiners here to do.
I'd move to Florida. Or worse yet.
Texas.

Another 6-8 here today. Just finished snow blowing my driveway and parking area for 5 cars, and it started hailing hail the size of green peas. will it never end?
While driving down the highway yesterday....

Way too funny...That guy Needs lessons really bad..Piling it against the house? It will melt right? Any one clue in on where the water is going to go?
And he is keeping his plow low and should be lifting as he hits the pile...
Amatures..

We finally finished with about 14-15 inches of snow.

My snow banks are high enough now that if they were closer together I could lay plywood across the top and have a car port and not have to snowblow for the rest of the year !

supposed to get freezing rain and snow tommorow in Beaumont, Texas

We have had so much snow in Connecticut lately, a friend of mine coined it well.

I probably have about 3 inches of ice blanketing the landscape of where I live. My house sits on a hill, and the whole yard is covered in ice. Absolutely no way am I ever going to walk across my yard to go down the hill... Even the roads have been horrible the past two days. I have never seen so much ice cover every square inch of every touchable surface there is. :uhoh
This winter storm sucked for me. I wanted snow, not ice!!!!!! :furious :bhead

couple of my friends were bored and decided one day to make a mega igloo/fort in someone's backyard (complete with lawn chairs and table inside it). thing is actually higher than a ranch home and can fit 4 comfortably in it... The things people do when you cant go out and have fun :lol

the patterns are changing already. here in south jersey, the last couple that could've walloped us, just brushed us instead...going to the north of us. mostly just rain.

You captured my thoughts exactly. I can't tell you how sick I was of people in upstate NY complaining about snow in the winter. Nowadays I find myself thinking there is not enough snow in the winter, but I chose to move 300 miles south. To answer the originally question posed -- we got about a 1/2 inch of rain, but not a single flake here in DC. :frown: Of course, last season we got absolutely bamboozled with snow, while western NY remained relatively (by their standards) dry. One never knows...

i love the snow. i hate the cold that has to be in order for it to snow.
the only thing i really squeak about due to snow, is traffic. there are WAY too many people on the road that should not be allowed to operate a motor vehicle in clear weather, much less turn em loose in the snow.

I don't mind the cold itself until the temperature is below 20 F. However, when you mix wind in it can become miserable pretty quickly.
No question about the traffic, cap! I used to enjoy driving in the snow, so long as I had a nice country road to myself. The old Camry with snow studs did pretty well...perhaps too well. :D
-
Sunny and 49 deg here in Seattle yesterday.
They're calling for ran showers over the next few days.
Lots of snow, but up in the mountains, we just drive to the snow if we want snow, 1 hour East or West (Cascades or Olympics) :devil

try it with a 67 mustang, or a 71 ford ranch wagon. :devil

About 6" of snow left... what the winds didnt blow away.. and -26 (Yeah 26 below Zero). The dang smoke detectors are going of in the middle of the night... damn no way we could get anything to burn in here... LOL

they were talking about that on 101.5 this morning. they were also talking about the brand new hyundai that drove through the wall of a school in toms river, leaving a 6x6 hole in the wall..they found it this morning.....with 3 dead people in it.

That's quite sad, but also sort of crazy. I wonder why they would be going that fast down this road? (http://media.nj.com/star-ledger/photo/9248115-standard.jpg) No seat belts, either.

i would venture a guess that the driver was impaired in some way/shape or form. i know it's bad to speculate on somethign like this.......but there's not much other explanation really.

No Snow YET, but 27 degrees on the Gulf of Mexico is pretty cold. Looking for real estate in S. America, cause this Yankee doesn't live anywhere that sells a snow blower :O

Yea, that was certainly my first guess as well. Let's go buzz the old elementary school in the middle of the morning while somewhat impaired...
I see snow there -- was it cold enough that night for ice to have been a factor?

i agree cap! you always find them idiots in big SUVs that think they are invincible to anything, the blow past you at 80 mph and then a mile up the road u see them flipped over in the ditch cuz they slid out of control and over turned...my bf has a 4x4 gmc jimmy and thinks that way, i keep telling him not to get to cocky in it cuz it can happen to him also...them things have short wheel base and are top heavy....he wont listen to me though, im a girl, what do i know :)

I have a friend who lives in Morningstar... Big custom home built about 12 years ago.. His wife recently died, so he's alone in this big house. maybe we'll get to visit him in the next year or so. His son is the General Manager of Microsoft, his brother is the former CEO of General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division.
Anyway, here's the weather we had up here on eastern Long Island since Christmas.... About 60 inches total with two smaller snow falls included.
December 27th. 18 inches

when i was young, i had a 70 chevy c-10 4x4. both dana diffs, limited slip in the front, posi rear, 4 speed. that truck did do some impossible stuff. would i try half of what i did today? hell no!! it was fun in the rain though.......goose the throttle at a light next to a vette......they could never resist trying to race, even in the rain. i was in 4wd, and could easily pull away from em. :devil

what snow?!?! Alaska is like friken hawaii now, even better like the us virgin islands
-
We have 14" here, which is a record. I've seen drifts close to 6 feet in person, and 8' on the news. We don't get snow fall like that, so there were only about 50 city snow plows available, plus the DOT plows on the interstates. The City has around 500,000 people. Simi's seem to the big problem, they are stuck everywhere. It was 6 below zero F last night, and it's going to be the same tonight. I drove to work today in a 2x4 truck and had no problem. I can't say I missed my old 4x4's, but I drove them for about 20 years and really didn't need the extra pull. The ride is much better over 350 days a year.

Started sleeting about an hour ago, and already 400 car wrecks in San Antonio, with roads closed all over the city.

I know right? Most of the snow down here in Palmer is pretty much gone already, even
with the half foot or so we got a week or two ago.

You must hire a professional to handle your A/C or refrigerator repair needs since you're obviously clueless about thermal dynamics even at a global level. :D Sorry if I missed your sarcasm.

heck that wasnt even a storm. Last year we got 26 inches in 12hours. I plowed my 400 ft drive and my neighbors driveway the next day with just our little 18 horse power Cubcadet (1812 if interested). Area was shut down for 2 days max and then it was back to norm.
We just got rain this time, which turned to ice, nothing even shut down from it though. my driveway is under about 2 inches of ice now though from this storm turning the packed snow that was already there into smooth ice. Its amazing what preparing for such storms does.
i cant wait for a good, large, wet snowfall. Senior prank will be an appropriately positioned body part on my high school's front lawn!

Here in the national park, it is the MOST snow ever recorded for February since 1875 when weather records were first kept. That is the snow in over 130 years...and the month is not half over.
Today, it is 60F and the snow is melting but still not yet gone.
