Woody Allens new comedy "Midnight in Paris" opens in Cannes today :old:
When has woody allen ever been funny?
Benny Hill for me thank you
-
Woody Allen has funny moments, but I can't sit thru an entire film. He is best as a contributing writer. Can't stand him as an actor or a person in general.
-
Woody has been hit or miss. Zelig and Radio Days were both funny! The rest? Eh...
-
When you get older you will understand him a lot better. Watch the movie Coconuts
-
yes
What about Benny Hill?

When has woody allen ever been funny?
Bananas (1971)
Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex* But Were Afraid To Ask (1972)
Sleeper (1973)

No need for Benny Hill the guy was a waste of oxygen even back when I watched him as a kid in the 60's/70's.
-
rising damp?
-
Early mid-Seventies when he was just going for laughs is the best - Play It Again, Sam; Bananas; Take the Money and Run; Sleeper; Love and Death. Funny in Casino Royale too as Jimmy Bond.
-
I never found Woody Allen or Benny Hill to be all that amusing.
However, I think that Larry David is hilarious. I guess it's a thin line between funny and not funny for me.
-
The funniest thing he ever did was What's Up, Tiger Lily. He took a Japanese spy movie and re-edited it and dubbed in totally different dialogue and made a whole other movie out of it. It's very crazy and extremely funny and off kilter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FPmp9FMRcA&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvxWz-zRHBY&feature=related
