Title: Animated Cockpits

  After reading this post http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,305074.msg3924799.html#msg3924799 it got me wondering...  Do we really need the controls to be animated.  Well maybe the stick/wheel, but the rudder pedals?  I just think that would free up resources for other things.  What, I don't now, maybe better fps or something...

You don't see anything move if you aren't looking at them.  If your head is in the cockpit, you're dead.   :devil

 :cheers:  very true.  I just wondered if the resources spent making things like rudder pedals move couldn't be used better elsewhere.  Exactly as you have said, I don't waste my time looking at the pedals, but they are still moving, irregardless.  Just not a necessity to me.

If your computer goes from barely playable to not playable with the addition of a moving polygon, perhaps it's time for an upgrade? Animations don't affect FPS nearly as much as polys and particle effects do.

Of course, what i would also like to see added tho, is a body, like..you can see your pilots body,then add damage skins for body parts to be wounded.
