Title: This game kills people
Post by: A8TOOL on February 04, 2011, 03:24:23 AM
It's very addictive and if your older and sitting here all day for months on end, smoking and drinking as some do...it's heart attack city without getting some exercise every now and then.

Take a bomber mission up sometime and while waiting to climb out, do some type of stretching or cardio exercise.                :bolt:

I walk between 10 and 15 kilometers a day. This game and a bunch of other stuff was helping to glue my arse to a seat so I did something about it. I've lost 12kg since Christmas. If I can do it anyone can. I have no cartilage in my right ankle and a very misshapen rib cage but rather than causing more problems, the loss in weight has helped my ankle, the muscles and ligaments in my foot and ankle have strengthened, and the weight loss has taken pressure off my ribs, which are still sore a year after my accident.

I walk to and from the train station every day, so that's 7kms minimum.

There's easy stuff you can do to avoid an early death or health complications, but your best bet is to work it into your day with minimum impact. Getting the bus to the train station and train to work used to take an hour and twenty minutes from home to work. Walking to the train station has dropped that to an hour.

A8Tool, I think a lot of us need to wake up and take your advice. About the only time I get any exercise is during hunting season and I really pay the first couple of weeks. Last season I thought I was going to have a Cardiac trying to climb out of a canyon. I will heed your words and see if I can get something going. Some guys get plenty of exercise at work, not me, I have a desk job and that just makes things worse. I think I'll go hit the stairs out back. Salute!

Where is the refrigerator?  Maybe a hidden tile/wall type?  Unless he's liquid cooling his machine with beer.  Would be bad though...drink all the coolant for your machine....

I climb ladders all day long. Same as a stairclimber machine I figger.
also may end up inadvertently doing
Deep knee bends.
Power lifting
Squats
Toe touches (cept the actual touching of the toes)
Arm aerobics           LMAO
climbing,
Jumping.
Not to mention how fast a heart can get going when your on top of a 40 foot ladder and a weather front moves in.

When I work, I work hard.
When I sit, I sit.

You just need the right setup to play the game and exercise at the same time.  :x

People have been slowly killing themselves for years, by abusing their bodies. They certainly don't need to blame this game. It is a huge stress reliever for me to get on here. It's been a harsh winter up here and one is kinda forced to do inside stuff. However, the stress relief had given me energy to do more, and be more active, so I've lost 30 lbs since October. I'm a portly old fart so 30lbs for me isn't that much, but it's a good start and a good pattern.  :old:
