Problem is, and I think what Skuzzy is going to say (not trying to put words in his mouth) is that is that its going to be virtually impossible to discuss one without the other entering the mix.

And I think that if he does allow it. This thread will probobly be short lived because its going to be virtually impossible to discuss one without the other.

Fortunately for you there is an alternative place where not only are political discussions discussed. But encouraged. And many of the folk who reside here. also reside there as well.

Be forewarned though. Its not for the weak. If you have a thin skin. Or are easily offended. you'll never survive.

Thanks. I'll check it out, though I hope Skuzzy will give it a shot. I think it can be done but...

Really? We use to have a Wednesday babe thread, and because a few individuals couldn't follow the rules we now don't. So do you really think a public policy thread would last for very long before politics becomes involved.

Virtually all topics where discussed in the O'Club years ago. The rules you see pinned in a post above were all the same, except 14 was added. There were even moderators.

Unfortunately, your comment that it "can be done" was proven years ago to not be true. We've been down that road and it's a road to nowhere that alienates and polarizes the community. This community exists because of our common interest in the game and to WWII aviation, to a lesser extent. It does not exist to discuss politics or religion.

Just in case you didn't know, there is (or at least was 30+ years ago) a rule in the Officer's Club and Mess aboard ship during deployment. The rule is that no one brings up politics or religion.

(Added: The above is only my opinion. I doubt HTC will go back to allowing political discussions again, but you never know, do ya?)

There is no way this would happen and if you knew the history of this board, you would not have bothered to suggest it.

There is a reason why rule #14 is worded exactly as it is;

14- Posting topics or threads which are based on politics, race, or religion is expressly forbidden.

Think about it.
