I have been flying on Aces High for a few months, but have not been able to get my radio comm to work. I can hear thru the headset, but can't seem to transmit. I have gone in and configured the headset and although it indicates that my mic is transmitting, when I try it in the game, it doesn't work. Can someone help? I have Windows 7 with a Del XPS 45.

In the game, check the "Options->Preferences->Game Sounds" panel and make sure it is configured with the correct devices.
When you get online, put your game ID in the "V" box and test to see if you can hear it echo back. If it does, then it is working. Change the "V" channel back to 101 it if is working.

This is one of the best tips for testing your own mic. I first heard it from Rolex during the training squad thing, so thanks to him for mentioning it.
The only thing is, I'd rather keep it tuned to myself instead of channel 101, or tune to a specific channel for a purpose. But it randomly (to me it seems random) tunes itself back to 101 sometimes instead of staying on "Boildown". Any idea why this happens? If you stay on voice channel 101 you will hear random people accidentally triggering it, which is annoying.

Make sure that your microphone is selected as the input device for recording. I do a lot of recording from various inputs on my sound card and will sometimes forget to switch from whatever I had been using back to my microphone before going to fly. Consequently folks will see my tag come up with no sound.

I'd like some help with this too. I've never had VOX working (in any game). I have been trying to follow along with the radio setup page on the trainers site (http://trainers.hitechcreations.com/radio/radio.htm), but not having much luck. I think the problem is not AH, but windows (win7 in my case). Win7 is different than the setup shown on the trainers page, but when I get to a screen for configuring mic for voice recognition, where there is actually a level indicator, I have to yell into it to make it move. I've tried setting mic level to 100, mic boost to max, etc. If I disconnect the mic boom, the level indicator doesn't move at all, so I think it IS getting some input from that mic. I don't have any other mics attached.
In game, if I tune to myself, and do VOX, and YELL, I can barely hear myself.
I don't think it's AH, but also confused as to how to debug it. Headset is "Ear Force HPA2". I've tried playing with the volume/etc settings on the little dongle hanging off the headset, but didn't see any changes.
err... HELP?

turned out the mic boom on the headset had to be JAMMED in to make a good connection.
