Used to show on Cartoonnetwork before 2007 when they canceled it. Had all the Japanese anime's including my favorite show and series Zoids. Thinking of it now all the newer shows suck, which is ruining the newest generation. Out of Curiosity since i have to remind myself you are all adults, does anyone remember it?
-
Iremember when Looney Tunes was replaced by newer shows thinking the same thing.
-
I'm just thinking, why not start the new generation with good cartoons instead of BS shows like adventure time that have no plot and nothing to accomplish and base their popularity off of funny looking characters. Time's made my memory bad, i can't remember much about the good times when it wasn't hard to find something good on tv.
-
Adventure time is actually very deep there are some really funny things in it that the average "child" cannot see.
-
Adventure Time is actually more geared to 17-23 year olds in my opinion. The reason Toonami was taken down, is because the current head of CN hated it and took it out because of his own feelings towards it, alienating a huge amount of their fans. I get furious when ever I see live action shows on CARTOON NETWORK (Adult Swim is perfectly fine with that, since it IS different. But they REALLY need to bring back better shows and more Anime)

Not gonna lie... i loved Zoids. All of the Cartoon channels have become either bad or geared to too young a child for adults to even find humor in them anymore. :cry
Anyone here remember the old Nickalodeon with Doug, Angry Beavers, Rocko's Modern Life, and RUGRATS? :aok
-
Angry Beavers was too adult cool and funny for kids. It rocked....... :aok
Kinda the niktoon version of the Red Green Show.

zoids was fun to watch. i used to have a lyger toy when i was little, could never decide wether i liked the blue lion looking one or the white lyger more.
anyone remember "ah real monsters!" courage the cowardly dog? ed edd and eddy? and of course, invade zim! :lol all good shows.
i remember all those shows you listed, i whatched rocko's modern life the most tho.
-
lol I remember Toonami. I also remember when they took votes on what his new space station should look like (The mascot type guy)
-
Best show to EVER be on Toonami was Bobobo-Bo-Bo-Bobo. EVER!!! Zoids was just too much aimed at kids for me to like it. Then there was the eleventymillion Yu-gi-oh spinoffs that had the retarded card battle things. In fact anything that had card battles should of been dropped after episode one. Adult Swim on saturdays I think yeard ago used to air Neon Genesis Evangelion. It was good but had its moments. The movies and theatrical releases were many times better and animated.
I dont watch it like I used to since I just dont have time but you can call me old fashioned, I absolutely love the 80's style of animation. I guess you can say my favorite works are done by Rumiko Takahashi
Now on the Nick stuff.... Angry beavers was awesome, for some reason the S.P.A.W.N. episode is stuck in my head. Rocko was funny and along with Ren and Stimpy. There is a ton more that its too early in the day for me to remember right now. Wonder if they are released on as a box set yet?
For us that were around back then, how about Count Duckula, Dangermouse, You cant do that on television, out of control? That was some way funny stuff back then

(http://images.wikia.com/zoids/images/6/66/Van_Bladey.jpg) Lately I've gone Zoids Crazy and my ipod screen and computer and i even have some posters of the Blade Liger(http://www.watch-zoids.com/wp-content/uploads/images/Zoids%20Chaotic%20Century.jpg)

I remember when it first aired, not when it ended :old: I never cared much for the ones with overly-exagerated facial expressions used as comic relief. Some of those anime had some perverse sexual content in them, that made me uncomfortable as well.
In 1999, I would have been in the 4th grade and the show Robotech/SDF-1 Macross (the original, never got into the new generation mess) was my life. What more could a young kid want then battling space mecha that resembled a cross between an f-14 and a f/a-18?
After that, I followed the series MS Gundum Wing pretty well, but not with the same hype as Robotech.
Finally ended my stay at toonami with Dragon Ball Z. Great action show, but it got silly at times.
-
I never could stand the anime shows. I watched dragon ball Z every once in a while when I was a kid, but I always stayed up late to watch the older cartoons.
-
Dragonball Z was my all time favorite cartoon, untill the Boo Saga ended, then I just grew out of it
-
3 words for ya........................... ....Blue Sub Six........... :bolt:

theres sort-of new redone episodes of dragon ball z

:old: Is it just me? Never heard of these.
I grew up with the more violent and demeaning cartoons like bugs bunny and the road runner that somehow have been banned from our society.....
:aok

Chinese fairy tales are gay. This was the best show on Cartoon Network.

YES! Courage the Cowardly Dog is easily my favorite cartoon of all time, a close second is of course the looney toons. Still mad that I don't see that kind of stuff on anymore. :bhead
-
CTCD comes on still?
-
Tom and Jerry and Looney Toons will always be my favorites. I spend a decent amount of time watching the Boomerang channel with my son on weekend mornings. Some of the newer stuff that I liked was Trigun and Samuri Jack. (anybody remember those?)
-
Ghost in the Shell: Shadow Complex
Greatest anime on toonami ever.

GITS was so biased against america it was insane.
did you see the episode where the C.I.A agent helping them just randomly goes "crazy" and starts killing a bunch of pregnant women? then they bashed america pretty hard at the end of that episode.
or the episode where the american terriost is trying to set a nuke off in tokyo?(like we would have a reason to even do that)
there other show is just as biased: samurai champloo.
that baseball episode was just stupid. "yankee-doodle!"
i used to like them, now i look at it in disgust.
i did used to whatch inuyasha and yu-yu hakashu too.
plus there was a show (cant remember its name) about a red haired samurai who had a backwards blade because he'd given up killing people (he also had an X scar on his cheek)
wish i could remember the name of it :(

Loved Samuri Jack and Courage the cowardly dog, two shows that I definetley think should of had more playtime.

GitS: Stand Alone Complex is actualy one of the oldest animes I believe, first debuting on I believe on the Sci-Fi channel back when they did late-night anime. Really was estatic that Adult Swim picked it up.

First anime I have ever seen was Dominion: Tank Police. Came on late on the movie channel around midnight or so. This was back in the mid 90's when I seen it
-
So not many people are fans of Japanese cartoons? I mean alot of them are outrageous but a few are pretty decent.

you obviously watched only 4 episodes of the series.
-
Inuyasha......... the show where they ran their mouths for four episodes to make a decision before they finally took another twelve to halfway complete it.
fixed

fixed
true story

Then 20 episodes of filler before going back to the original decision

anyone remember lupin the third?
yeah, I think it's got to be the oldest anime franchise ever shown on Cartoon network.
I liked this promo btw :rock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSctpoPWH4c&feature=related

I think most of them, especially the new ones right now, are just downright offensive to western sensibilities.
-
Zoids New Century wasn't bad with things being bigger than normal. Zoids Chaotic Century wasn't that bad when it came to that area, but Guardian force tho was kinda offensive but I worked around it and it was a very enjoyable show :D

Now this is the stuff Disney or Nick channels should be showing!
That franchise could be a global success if Disney's in-house talent do voice overs for that show.
-
Disney maybe, nick would absolutely ruin it
