What do you guys think of having a scenario/non-realistic arena. One thats based on complete fantasy. The maps would be different and they would be themed. For example...
1) one country vs king kong where king kong is climbing buildings. We try and stop him by shooting him with planes, GVs, etc...
2) A big furbal arena with only planes from the previous AH Cons available
3) Alien invasion or zombies invasion which attack the 'big city' and we have to stop them.
etc...
After the conclusion of one situation, it would switch to the next.
Also, little easter eggs could be added, like grizzly bears in the trees which take swipes at your plane if you fly too close, etc..

Go play nintendo. Come back when you want to fly in a WW2 environment.

:cry :cry :cry
ok fine, the history buffs will poop on my idea...
They want to continue to imagine that somehow AH war has some shred of 'reality' other than using planes and tanks modeled from ww2.

I think it would be great, all most all of us, especially the old timers, need to take a mental break from the MA which all it does it seems nowadays is cause whining and moaning.

I'm not a kid, but one might enjoy a diversion from the usual 'realisitic' () game play. It's a game, so why not have a 'gamey' arena too. One's imagination is the limit, and that's the beauty of games, so why not create scenarios where planes/GVs were used (even if its just pop-culture references, etc...).
I mean, unless you wear a catheter when you fly in AH, and shoot yourself every time you receive a pilot wound.

One thing that I look forward to every year at convention time :x  extreme AH wacky weirdness :rock
I would love to see King Kong, Godzilla, Mothra or any of the other great things that HTC brings us for the final "fantasy" night of the convention.
Yes for your wish on that night.
No, for your wish for an arena. Other than those that just say it is a bad idea, I will give you something to think about. Your idea obviously is intended to bring in a fun factor to the game. As proven by the success of the yearly convention missions, folks do enjoy a comical twist on their normal routine.
Where the idea goes south is just as much a part of human nature as the desire to break away from the routine. After about the 5th or 6th time that King Kong has :ahand human nature takes over and you start analyzing :headscratch: until you find a weakness in that monkey's "quah". Pretty soon our silly cartoon :airplane: will have entered into the Tetris zone, dodging certain pixel generated shapes :joystick: and attacking others. (pretty much what we are doing now).
So let us have our little illusion for a while longer that one day History Channel will be interviewing us :rofl and our squadmates for re enactment, re enactments

Your fantasy is a giant anatomically correct Gorilla? :O
