Why not have some ports designated on some maps to spawn multi-CV (multiple carriers) in the MAs, with an apropriate number of escort vessels? Make these heavy task groups have a heavier ack cover due to the increase in its size, with random formation/ship-placement to mix it up for the enemy bombers. I'm thinking if the designated "lead" CV is sunk then one of the others that is still up will inherit the flag of the fleet as it were, but how to handle something like the radar (IE: a 3-CV task group, two CVs loose radar, should the entire TG have radar up still?) I'm open to suggestions.
I figure this will be both an attractive offensive addition for both those wanting to go offencive against enemy bases and those wanting to go offensive against larger, juicier, but more dangerous CV targets (ie: where one formation taking on a current TG has some risk from AAA fire at any effective altitude, a single formation attracting the attention of a TG with 2-3 times as many ships as a current one would attract 2-3 times as much AAA, making them more prime targets for a coordinated multi-player bombing effort).

I do remember we used to have a CV group that had multiple cruisers in it. I wouldn't mind seeing that as well - 1 CV, 2 Cruisers and 2 CV, 4 Cruiser groups. Lot of fat targets there for you folks.

Hmmm, this idea seems to be going over like a lead balloon.

The CV is the primary ship of a fleet. It has a map room buried within the terrain. I'm not sure if it's possible to have two primary ships act in unison as a single fleet. That may be a problem with the idea.

Start with a 25 mile radar, 1 cv gets lit, radar goes down to 10 miles? Love the idea!

I slapped together a terrain incorporating this idea for 8-player about three years ago. Needless to say, ensuing battles were quite the riot. :D
EDIT: Found a picture.
