Title: Playing with film viewer
Post by: RTR on February 12, 2011, 08:30:39 PM
I've been playing with the film viewer the last few days and have made a bit of a AVA Promo video.

Still trying to get it sized properly so it is more easily downloaded to view.

The original is High Res and 225MB. I have it pared down to about 120MB and its playable, but the High Res looks alot better.

Any suggestions?

I have the lower res on my photobucket account, but this really looks better in the High Res version.

I haven't made a movie in a few years here (used to make a few,) and the new film viewer is way better than the old. (my computer too hehe).

Anybody know how to get 225MB across without hassle?

I have heard that youtube was very good at compressing video formats.  You might try something along those lines.

How long is the film?  I was reading advice from a fellow AH film maker, that short clips pasted together make for better action scenes.  By short I think he referenced somewhere around 10 seconds.

Interested in seeing how things turn out.  Keep us updated.  :salute

Hey Chilli, thanks for the advice :)

I have made a few and yep, short clips spliced well together make a better film.

What the heck, here's the link for the lower res version. If I find a way to get the high res version out I will.

Its still 120Mb so it may be a bit of a wait.

I made it to show off the terrains and weather we have access to in the AVA...and the opprtunity for 1vs1 or 2vs1 fighting.

Good film Jimson :)

I really like your music choice.

I am experimenting more with the chase plane views at the moment.

Boy, It's tough to find the right shots there, but worth it.

World relative and plane relative provide good short shots I find, but  poor overall immersion due the world turning around the airplane Vs the airplane turning around the world (not sure if that makes sense).

Guess I am still looking for that magic balance.

Your video's intro and credit were very good... The middle part was pretty good too <G>!

I enjoyed it and learned a few things ...Thanks!

cheers,
RTR

Alot of guys are also using FRAPPs to make films and edit them together for an example check out our site 20thfglocobusters.net for our recruitment film that was all merged with fraps. Personally I have never tried it but I know others who have
