due to an AVG bug, i had to uninstall and reinstall my game earlyer this week. so all my skins got erased.
i didnt realize i didnt have my BOG skin downloaded till i was allready in-game. i tried downloading it quick off of the website but it wouldnt work.
so my wish is...
if we have the download box selected for downloading in-game, can we choose which skin the system downloads at the time?.
like, double click on that skin and it will start downloading it in-game? and then when its done it would go back to its normal downloading routine unless you want another specific skin downloaded first.

What I think is useful, but I have only seen it done by other skin enthusiasts, is a thumbnail of the skins next to a download link for that skin. I don't load all of the skins, or have them routinely downloading in the background, so grabbing just the skin that I am looking for but don't know the skinner or the file name, visual identification is a lot quicker.

It isn't that bad of a wish to be honest. Its not like we completly need it or anything but id give it a :aok

Actually Pumpkin, I was going to try to help you out. Perhaps you didn't place the downloaded skin in the right folder. Maybe you changed the name of the skin when you downloaded it. Hence why I asked "why wouldn't it work".

you do realize that your saying...
it would be easier to go to the website, download the skins, put them in there appropriate files, and do this for ALL the skins you may want, and if you dont know how to do it, go waste time reading through the technical support section, which still not everyone would understand..

simply clicking on the skin you want downloaded first in-game. and the game then downloading that skin first while you play.

Unfortunately it will take more than 5 sec your way. You see HTC will have to add in game coad to allow you to select individual skins during actual game play. But HTC has been kind enough to let you do it by yourself, and even has instructions. Also by using the tech support forum it allows other who may be tech smart to help the non tech smart.
There is no bashing. I even offered to help you find the right folders or skins. Short of making you a disc to load in PC, which I'd do as well (although it will take more than 5 sec via US Mail).

i knew about the page, i stated like twice allready that i'd tried downloading from there. and who will it take more than 5 secs to download? hitech? so? spending a couple days to coed this to save himself a couple years of headaches replying to the same skin questions.
nothing youve stated sounds easier than simply choosing what skin to download first ingame.
you have creating a disk.
downloading from the website than adding into a folder etc.
backing up....
when all im asking is to be able to choose which skin to download first ingame by clicking it. then boom. done. downloaded. no going to the website. no getting disks and messing with them. none of that. just click the skin name. it downloads ingame. and there ya go. all done.

If you create a backup disc it does more than just save skins, it save views, maps, clipboard configuration and stick settings (including scaling). This way if you ever have to reinstall AH you have all of your settings. Forgive me for trying to help you out for the future.
My thoughts are if you are capable of downloading and installing AH, then you should be more than capable of downloading a few skins.

And what everyone is trying to tell you is that you can already essentially do what you want, just not in game.
I see in game downloading of skins as how it is described in the check box, "download in the background".
If you need instant gratification, make the minuscule effort to get the skin you want yourself.
For those computer illiterate, the skins download automagically now.
Keep berating those trying to help you. You will go far.

WAIT, Me has great idea!
You could get off your lazy bellybutton and go ingame and check the Auto download box below the plane list in hangar.
I give this a complete -50 and say spend some time in-game and pay attention, and stop running to the forum everytime you don't know something.

If you want a specific skin download first, do what everyone else has suggested and just download it yourself from the skins page. There is a time when a child like yourself needs to learn how to do things for yourself instead of demanding someone else make it easier for you because you just can't take the time to learn now to download a frickin' skin.
I mean, come on...how hard is it to download a skin to the AH folder? If you find it that difficult, you really have no business near a computer.

no, actually i usually stick to one skin thats my absolute favorite per plane.
sure, i can check the box and let it auto-download every skin. but then i have to wait till the long list is over.
OR
with my wish, i could just click my fav skin, and the game will start to download it first. then when its down it will go back to its normal downloading list unless i choose another specific skin i want downloaded next.
if you want to -1 my wish fine. its your right. but PLEASE tell me you atleast understand what im trying to ask for, and arent mistaking everything im saying horribly like dirt did.

1. Go to http://www.hitechcreations.com/Flight-Sim/World-War-Two-Planes/downloads-skins-art.html
2. Select the skin you want and click on the link
3. Select Save and save it to your C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High\skins folder
You have now saved a skin in 3 easy steps that took less then 2 minutes to accomplish.

Dear Tyrannis,
Although you may think the AH world is out to get you, we are not. You wish is not a viable one. As many of us have demonstrated there are plenty of ways for one to add the skins that they'd like to use in AH. By adding one more way just for the sake of it being easier is counter productive. Lets say that there was an option for you to download a specific skin in game, the truth is it would still take longer than downloading it offline. If you have ever watched the auto download skins during game play, they are rather slow. Mainly because of game usage and now the added load of downloading a file. Therefore downloading the specific skin offline before you log in is a faster alternative.
I'm sorry that you take everything personally in here, but sometime you seem to hold on to tight you've lost the edge and can only comeback with insults or spiffy images. You say that you're not tech smart as others here on the BBS, but you have obviously downloaded the game, and are fully able to embed images on the BBS. Therefore I feel that you should be able to download four to five skins for in game usage. Many here have given you the pole, led you to water, and now its up to you to fish.

Tyrannis, are you aware of where your HTC folder is in your compurer?
My Computer --> Local Disk C: --> Program Files --> Hitecreations. If you know how to navigate to that page, you can paste a downloaded skin into your "skins" folder.
I agree with Copr. You take things too seriously. Your wish was given a -1 because it's un needed, and you got upset about that. No need to get upset everytime someone disagrees with you on these boards. Your AH career will be alot harder if you do.

Tyrannis, are you aware of where your HTC folder is in your compurer?
My Computer --> Local Disk C: --> Program Files --> Hitecreations. If you know how to navigate to that page, you can paste a downloaded skin into your "skins" folder.
I agree with Copr. You take things too seriously. Your wish was given a -1 because it's un needed, and you got upset about that. No need to get upset everytime someone disagrees with you on these boards. Your AH career will be alot harder if you do.

im not sayin dont give it a -1 if you dont like it. just dont be a complete idiot about doing it like llogan was on page one.
