You speak of things that deal with Fighter/Attack score........................ ..........

That is only half the battle.

Then the bombers? Milkrunning rulez  :rock
Seriously, you can get the most points from bombing town centres, pretty much the same story. I see a red dot on the map, i up, but only 25K 17s bombing the town...

After 23k, some of our fighter aircraft have marginal performance.  So from a practical point of view, once you icon the bombers, depending on what you're in, might take 20 minutes to intercept.  Many folk won't "waste" that time, and some others just aren't in the right fighter.

Why don't you kill them?

Why don't you kill them?

Because by the time you get to 25k the buffs cruise away at super speed. If you try to up in front of them they just change their path because it doesn't matter which town they hit they are up for that 2 hour cruise around to drop one bomb on each town they pass.

I dont like to climb 30 mins after 20k+ b17s only to lose my 109 g-6...

Edit: flame suit on

change the scoring system

separate ground kills from air kills and score these kills accordingly

say air kill worth 2 points
ground kill worth 1 point would change it IMO

YES YES YES!!!

If anything it would certainly open up the bombing category to actually require some interaction.   :salute

I understand why the scoring is set the way it is. I gives a guy like me a chance, even tho I don't fly often, to place well on the scoreboard. It encourages working in all fields there by getting players to participate in all facets of the game.

On the other hand, it causes players only playing for score (which is their right to go for) to avoid doing anything that might hurt their score. So you get those buffs hitting towns 1 bomb at a time, and fighters running from fights unless they hold ALL the cards and are ASSURED a kill with no danger to themselves.

That part makes me come within a hair, once or twice a week, of canceling and deleting the game from my hard drive. As most everyone who's fought me knows, it's NOT like I'm a tough kill....Larger maps seem to cause this more, for a reason a sociologist could likely explain

Some people have no spine, I have be guilty of the BnZ type, but people who do this all the time really don't have spines. IMO its their problem, not mine. If you want to spend half your time in level flight be my guest.

Part score/part (well mostly) ego.  Seems to be the MO of alot here lately.  The classic ones are the ones you meet at alt...merge-nose down and run 2 sectors :rofl
I used to feel sorry for these guys thinking that they are missing a big portion of this game when in fact they do it for any other reason other than to have fun. Truth be known, when you have to "work' at anything in this game..you are going to make yourself nuts.

I will often drag people out from a furball for a 1v1, when the break I try to do a 90 degree turn to see if they re merge with me for the fight.

I have no trouble with a guy who BnZs, at least while he is actively trying to get his shot. If his "extensions" get more than a couple k then he is on the point of being a real wuss. Once I get him out of E and I reverse him, it's time for him to pull some of the pilot sh@t. I look at it like if I blew my E and got myself into that position I should be dead, so lets try some of the pilot crap to see if I can get out of it. Too many people look at it as"oh NO !!!! I'm going to die! RUN AWAY !!!!!!

That, Fugitive. Its tiring when a pony is making an 1-shot pass on you, then extend to 6k+ away, and when you say, well, he ran, lets deal with the other cons, then he comes back, makes his 1-shot pass on you, the extends to 5-6k etc.
Dont let me wrong, im not complaining about getting shot down. I only miss the good fights, the epic ones i had in the past (yes, in the MA), the friend-making ones. I would be happy if you kill me in a good fight, couse im playing for fighting not for chasing down runners who suddenly find their balls when the reinforcment arrives.
So is that score or K/D as inportant? Could we somehow get a score system what motivates real and brave fighting? In my opinion that could inprove the gameplay.

No, it isn't as important as many folks think. Mostly those who say "I don't care for score" vastly overrate the importance of K/D for score & rank. Kinda paradox...

But then, that's usually the same guys talking about other peeps' score  :lol

I hate when the bad guy runs to ack or drags you to wirbles, then reverses when you break off.  :furious
Have no problem with ack runners as long as they stay there.  If I run to ack, it is because i'm landing or ditching.  That's my "play my way" whine for the day.

All you can do is make sure you are having fun Debrody.  When you start thinking about how the other guy plays, scores, what needs to be 'changed' to make your game more enjoyable, then you've lost.  There will be no perfect night in the game.  You will have a fight now and then that reminds you of why you play, and the guys who fly with and against will remind you that they're good folks and worth spending time with.

The rest of it will just drive you a bit crazy now and then if you let it :)

You'll almost never find me in the MA unless someone like yourself drags me in there. I'll be trying to get on at times after 2pm central, but there's not much motivation for me these days.
