Title: Trouble Adjusting Video Card For 32" LED
Post by: DCCBOSS on February 17, 2011, 09:39:47 AM
I have a new 32" LED HDTV and I'm having trouble with getting my video card set correctly, I've been changing settings and still get a white halo around planes 1k and out, and also as I approach a plane the silhouette seems to be pixilated until about 1.5k out and closing, I plenty of power to run it, I'm using a Nividia 8800 GTS, two core duo processor, windows XP  also using DVI - HDMI cable, set to 1920 1080 resolution, I have the game settings matching the card settings what am I missing.

PS even my avitar seems grainy

Update: last night I made some more changes to my video card and then to the color control of the video card, it seemed to help allot but it is still off
after my color tweeking I had to raise the in game gama to 2.0 to lighten it up enough to use. Any recommendations on what I should do next.

As another point of interest when I'm not logged into forum or the game my display is almost perfect.

Are you sure you the televisions DVI/HDMI port is computer compatible?  The computer version of the HDMI/DVI port is electrically different from the televisions DVI/HDMI port.  Most televisions either have a setting you adjust to signify a computer is connnected to the port, or they handle it automatically.

Yes, and it even has a format for it in the setup on the TV, to switch it to game/computer mode input which works ok, like I said on my second post it's when I get into AH that I have my display problems and most of that would be only on small objects such a other planes as the distance from increases the silhouette become too distorted to make out which way they are turning as I could before at that same distance and that's about 1.5k - 2k approx.

We have no control over what you are describing.  It sounds like the television is not set to its native LCD resolution, or possibly the refresh rate is not correct.

Update: I went back to the TVs Color Settings made Changes to Contrast, Hue, Sharpness, Color And Brightness and it worked, it seemed like the color settings from the TV was causing the video card to distort the end result in game. Now from me messing with my video card settings I'm getting jagged edges, could someone repost best settings for a Nividia 8800GTS or just point me to it.
