A guilty pleasure from 5th grade.    Dokken - Alone Again.   :uhoh

"Your axe belongs to a dying nation,
They don't know that we own you."

The Who?  I can't think of the song title...Something and the Godfather?

Finally found it on my iTunes...  "The Punk and the Godfather" by the Who

here's an easy one since I don't have much time.
"Oh, all I see turns to brown
As the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand
As I scan this wasted land"

Primal Scream - Motley Crue.    Nice choice btw, remember when this one came out in Dec-90.

This one might be one of the tougher ones yet (one of my all time favorite Albums on top of it).

"Though my hills, they're not green.  I've seen them in my dreams.
Take me back to those Black Hills, that I ain't never seen."

Mommy, where's daddy? He's been gone for so long. Do you think hell ever come home?
I was gone for 14 days, I could've been gone for more.
Held up in the intensive care ward, lying on the floor.
I was gone for all those days, but I, I was not all alone.
I made friends with a lot of people, in the danger zone.
See my lonely life unfold, I see it every day.
See my only mind explode, since I've gone away.

If you can't get that one, here's another by the same.

I couldn't tell if the bells were getting louder.
Songs they ring I finally recognize.
I only know hell is getting hotter,
the devil's getting smarter all the time.
It would be nice, to walk upon the water.
To talk again to angels, by my side.

Muswell Hillbilly... Somebody must like Ray Davies

And that answer qualifies me to post a question.

How about this one..?

"My friends say
that your friends say
that I ain't worth the time
I know what you must hear
don't let it interfere"

Bonus question - and slightly more obscure (think huge in Britain but not the US)

"a smash of glass and a rumble of boots
pneumatic drills and a ripped-up phone booth
paint-splattered walls and the cry of a tomcat
lights going out and a kick in the balls"

"That's Entertainment"  by  The Jam.  One of my favorites.  :aok

Worthwhile: peruse any of Paul Weller's post-Style Council albums. There are about eleventy'billion and most of 'em are pretty good. There's one heckofa lot more Jam in those than Style Council, thank Zeus. Everybody had to have their 80's thing, I guess, and it wasn't all bad.

Thanks, I will check that out.  Didn't like Style Council.  For "effeminate" music, Aztec Camera was way better.

Indeed. I still have "oblivious" ringing in my ears. My sister liked it so well she had an acoustic band playing it as people arrived.

"I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the Frisco Bay"

"Otis, my man!"   Otis Redding, that is.  "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay"

Something a bit different:

"You're sweet, but you're just four feet
and you still got your baby teeth"

Great band of the '80s.  :lol

At her wedding?  Bet that sounded awesome.  So much great music in the '80s that most never heard of.  Check out Cactus World News.  Great but obscure rock band.
