Title: Bomber medium & high altitude speed chart
Post by: Lusche on February 24, 2011, 07:40:47 AM
The web speed chart readings do often differ significantly from performance in game, depending on fuel and weapon loadouts.

This chart was made by testing the most popular LWMA level bombers at four different altitudes from 15-30k. Bombers without 30K entry can't reach that altitude in reasonable time or at all.
All bombers speeds were measured with 50% fuel, full bomb load (except Mossie, which was tested without external stores; and one B-29 setup with 10,000lbs bombload). As I was looking for max cruising speed for that loadout, no WEP or takeoff power was used.

No B-25C, no Boston III, no TBM, no B5N. ;)  To prevent the chart from cluttering up, I just took the most popular & important bombers.

Wasn't meant to get that "big" anyway: It started as a simple B-29 test, and then I added just one or two bombers for comparison purposes...
