I recently got a set of these and what a nightmare :furious. I get brakes but cant not get rudder to work. If anyone can give me some advice as to how to set them up it would be greatly appreciated

Z axis?
Options--->map controllers--->choose the rudder pedals from the list--->highlight the Z axis--->click the stick scaling box so you can see the rudder pedal inputs on the bars on the right--->click the "calibrate" box--->follow the instructions.
If this still doesn't work, have you calibrated in windows, if possible, first?
Good luck.

my peddles came physically broken on the internals when brand new. I had to unscrew the peddles and take them apart to fix them myself. mine actually didn't move, they some how were not in there sliding rails. I have also gone through three x52s and this one also has issues but manageable enough to quite caring, since every time I replace them a totally different aspect was wrong with them. i don't care to deal with learning all of saiteks flaws, back to the peddles I have not had a single issue with those since I fixed them the first time. u may have to exchange those crap peddles for other crap peddles. thats my story.

Did you install the drivers from Saitek?
Windows will install drivers that supposedly "work," but I've found that using the newest drivers off the website was really all that was needed to get mine going.
