well ive been messing around in offline and ive noticed that in WW2 there were reports of shermans (75mm) killing tigers with a single blow at distances of 500yds. theres was a so called "soft spot" inbetween the bottom of the turret and where the rest of the tank is. if you put a shot anywhere near that it would go KABOOM because there is only 10-11mm of armor and anything that goes into the turret should ignite the ammo and make the tiger a pressure cooker. im just wondering if this is modeled into the game correctly because no matter how close/accurate i am on hitting it in that spot nothing ever happens..

I think he was watching an episode of "Great Tank Battles" when they mentioned in one engagement during between Canadian Shermans and German Panthers and Tigers. In that particular episode, one of the surviving Canadian Sherman tank commanders was telling the story of his engagement with a Tiger where in a moment of desperation because the Tiger was about to fire on his Sherman, he yelled for his gunner to aim for the turret ring where the turret met the body of the tank that was supposedly thinly armored. The Sherman gunner got lucky and managed to hit the spot, taking out the Tiger tank. From the way the Sherman tank commander relayed the story, it appeared that he still had a tough time believing they got really lucky with that one in a million kill shot.

well thats not where i got it from, we dont even have the military channel. i found it somewhere online (i cant remember where) because my friend showed it to me. i was looking for some reasearch on the actual damage of the shermans 75MM gun, because the one in the game seems just a little too low...

Actually on the "Greatest Tank Battles" the other night they were doing the battle between the Canadians and the Germans and the people they were interviewing, the actual tankers from Germany stated that the "neck below the turrent and above the main body of the Tiger was by far the weakest point being only a few millimeters thick. :salute

in 2009 they were sherman VC Fireflys. those shots to the tiger wouldnt work with 75mms and most of them on the tigers wouldnt work with the 76mm at ranges

yes but none of the shots posted in belial's thread involve the neck of the turret soft target? two different subjects i believe
