I myself prefer 43-45 PTO campaigns like we have in Philippine Phandango.
How about you guys?
-
Ones that have the 474th FG P38Js and Ls in it :)
Barring that, I think the scenarios like BoG and DGS that involve the escorting of the Heavies to Germany provide the best action and immersion.
I'd love to see a 1943 Channel Front Scenario too where a fairly even plane set with the RAF vs LW could have at it,although I imagine the LW guys would not want to fight Spitfires
-
I would classify myself as an axis-oriented player. Nothing specific, I just like the planes. Now, Guppy, I wouldn't say no to something with spitfires, BUT... it would have to be balanced. There was a window in WW2 history where the LW had parity or superiority to the RAF aircraft. If we just start throwing Spit16s against 190A5s you know the outcome before you start.
So, as always, it boils down to individual setups for any given scenario. Example: The Final Battle did not interest me.
I guess... In short... any scenario that I join!
-
That's why I said Channel 43. I think that was about the most parity you'll find in terms of plane performance. 190A5/A8, 109G6, 110G, Ju88 vs Spit V, IX, Tiffie, Mossie VI, Bostons and Mitchells.

always got to give it to the CMs for the thankless job of trying to balance the unbalanced ...
usually swimming upstream through never-ending historic, game, and community issues ...
++S++ to the event crews everywhere, and thanks for all the fun !!!

EW PTO definitely.
Solomon Islands, perhaps? :pray :D

I like variety and don't have one particular favorite style. Some of the ones I've liked the best: Red Storm, Philippine Phandango, Coral Sea, BOG/DGS, Tunisia, Stalin's Fourth.

Many thanks for this, by the way. Indeed, it is a job that gets a large share of grief no matter what you do.

No Thank You Sir/s

Greatly appreciated, thank you. Much more fun to produce when all the players are in a position to enjoy the event.
-
I would have to say that Stalin's 4th was my favorite for a lot of reasons, the biggest being the dynamic plane use options and the chain-of-supply system.

:old: What he said.... Variety is the spice of life!
I also like, and hope, that some day we have the "actual" capability to do Air/Sea Rescue via PBY or some such.. :) Even with a goon or PT doing the honorable, it makes it kinda cool and out-of-the-box.
-
I like the PTO setups the best. Esp the ones that are before 1945. But any in the PTO i like the most.
After that it would be the MTO in second. Love all the different aircraft that can take part in them.
-
Early or Mid war any thing. My personal preference would be Battle of Britain or Mid war Eastern Front.
-
I would say that all are my favs...but a slight edge goes to the Naval battles. Manning 5" guns after losing lives, or not, is a great way to spend an afternoon! :)
I enjoy the teamwork, meeting folks, and learning new tactics and things outside of the normal MA stuff. Scenarios are the best way to get acquinted with folks who you may have a jaded position on CH200 and then find out you might wanna have a drink with them..or they live in your town!
My favorite is the one I am launching in....

i wonder if they would ever do a proper B-29 bombing of tokyo scenario. with incendiarie bombs. and the smoke from the fires blackening the bottoms of the B-29s. and to where you could see the burning blaze for miles away from the target.

Ever? I dunno. Within the next five, ten, fifteen years? Probably not. The only gameplay mechanics that have changed since I started playing in 2003 are the addition of weather(broken and scrapped), the addition of capture trains(failed idea repurposed into uncapturable rearline bases), the ENY limiter, and the strats redux.
Doing that would require adding incendiary bombs(and a purpose for them in normal gameplay without breaking everything), redoing the fire/smoke texture to look realistic while not destroying FPS, increasing the visual range by redoing the fog system(which is pretty terrible tbh), and adding a whole new layer to every aircraft for either the burnt bellies or just effects in general. None of which seem to be very high on the priority list.

it would be nice though. a man can dream lol.

You know, I really like a mix of the both. PTO scenarios can get stale with the PTO plane set not being as complete as the ETO set atm, however with CVs usually being a factor and frame objectives varying from fighter sweeps, seek and destroy, and more typical land-based targets the action can really vary a lot. ETO seem the opposite, we have richer plane sets but the action is usually the same throughout but in different location on the map (attack - defend).
