Another half a billion dollars up in smoke, with the failure of the other Taurus XL rocket in 09 that was also carrying a climate satellite you'd think this would be the end for that rocket and make NASA maybe look into the viability of another launch system.

S*** happens when you try and go from 0 to 17,000 mph in a matter of minutes.
But seriously, this is just a problem that'll be ironed out in time. If we abandoned every launch vehicle the first time it failed, we never would have gotten into space in the first place.

I think i read somewhere that this is the 3rd failure of 9 launches for this type of rocket.
