How did you guys hear about this game? I found it by searching online for a wwii dog fighting sim. :joystick: I guess I'm surprised that High Tech doesn't do more advertising on shows like "dog fights" on the History channel. Am I just missing the commercials or are they nonexistent? :headscratch:

No idea... :headscratch:
-
We have advertised on Dogfights. And other shows on the history channel.

I saw it on a commerical on the military or discovery channel
-
I though it was an Iron Maiden cover band...
-
I heard about it from my father who came here after AW.
-
Sitting in my chair watching the History Channel after being in the hospital for over a month. I was so weak, that it took me over 2 hours to find my flight sticks and download the program. The best therapy one can have when you are incapable of going out.

Saw the commercial when I was about 10. Couple years later I decided to try it.
-
Saw the commercial once, about Feb/Mar of '09 on either History Channel or Military Channel. Checked the game out, should have taken up heroin instead. Been here ever since.
Haven't seen a single commercial, ad, or otherwise since.
-
The commercial got me here too.
-
Was curious if Air Warrior 3 was still around, found this. :D
-
Warbirds became stale, I saw an add on TV and thought I'd give it a shot
-
old aw squadies moved here. I followed 7 years later, funny thing only joined due to the fun I had back then.

Found Air warrior on accident the day it started on AOL. Been in the "community" ever since. Tried Warbirds while i was still playing AW, but it was too different and I stuck with AW. Sometime before AW died, I heard about AH through the BigWeek message board. Tried it out but it seemed just like warbirds to me so I stuck it out with AW until it died. I played some other MMOs like EQ for a couple years, and then I missed flying so I came back here because there wasn't really much of a choice lol. It turned out to be a great game and I've pretty much been here ever since.

The husky, sexy, voice on the commercial compelled me to join. :devil
-
I was surfing for a flight sim program & found this. I wasn't really looking for it, but glad to be here. :salute

Thank you, Mr. Crack Dealer. :lol
<---- addict :x

I did a google search and found a lot of player reviews but virtally none from mainstream media sources that do offical reviews of releases, I can't understand that, this game is as reaper said pure crack.
Perhaps its the fact that its been released once so to speak and then constantly updated?? Even something as jaw droppingly rubbish as IL2 bop is reviewed by 'big time' reviewers.

:aok :rofl :aok
That you did
Used to play AW. Checked the demo out but didnt have the funding at the time to play. I was however pissed at AW because I felt that this was the game AW could have and should have been.
Eventually came up with the extra funds (I think HTC changed its pricing too to the current format) And the machine to play. That was probably near 10 years ago and at least 3 computer builds ago.

The power of advertising and promotions. If you spend enough money on promoting and advertising it, you can take a dog turd, paint it red, and someone will pay you money for it.
I have no insight what-so-ever into HTC's marketing budget but I would guess it's a few decimal places to the left of where other software developer's budget dollars fall......

My point isn't that this guys youtube reviews get 100,000 + views per video he'd just need some free account bribery from Hitech and a bit of rear end kissing thats virtually for nothing :)
But for some reason Aces High gets overlooked, Hitech should be picking up reviewers in his RV8! :D :airplane:

commercial on Military Channel
+1. saw the "are you up to the challenge?" commercial back in 06
-
you could advertise on my iracing Silverado for a small fee :x
-
It was 2005 or 2006 and I was watching the Dogfights Hell over Hanoi episode, and the Aces High commercial came on. I was so jacked, I recorded the episode when it repeated on VHS, just so I could watch the commercial several times.
I then dug out my copy of CFS2 and started playing around on that while lurking the forums and trying to scrape together the bucks to get a better PC.
I tried the two week trial and then it was a while before I actually subscribed, but I kept lurking on the forums.
I then cancelled for several months when I was too busy to fly and then re-upped after the big graphics update.
hitech, if you ever wondered..... the commercial worked at least once!
-
Commercial back in 06 or so....then quit for a while came back in 09. Mention to every pilot I fly with and see if it gets them interested. Thought about making a flier of some sort and putting it up in the Crew lounges for AA/AE at O'hare, Laguardia, JFK, Boston, DCA, Miami, DFW, and LAX...also thought about some of the FBO's or Flight Safety or CAE also in the training center in DFW cuz I'm gonna be there at the AA flight academy for the next couple of months...etc., for upgrade training...potentially nab a few pilots out of the 12,000 working for AA and the 3,000 working for Eagle...maybe it might be in your interest to make a liason with some of the other airlines out there...I'm sure there are alot of potential clients. I of course would require some sort of a "finder's fee."....heh :devil

I found AH on the Military Channel. Logged on to the forums in 2008. Finally got a home internet connection in Dec 2010 and went online the same day.
I'm here to stay.
Thank you Hitech and all your crew for Aces High.
Now I get to live a childhood dream of being a P-38 driver :old: :salute

I honestly would pitch in an extra $5-10 dollars to see better and more comercials. On Military History, which is pretty much an all WW2 channel and the regular military channel.

HTC really should hire Niros to make a new commercial.

Military Channel commercial.
-
The ad during a "DogFights" show set the hook in my throat.
-
Saw it on history, downloaded it right there on the spot
-
I had seen the commercial and asked my parents, originally they said no. However after my dog died I was down in the dumps and they got me a subscription to the game.
-
I found the game when I was 9 looking for some cartoon games (:
-
Commercial.
-
Found it on 3dfiles back in 2000, the sad thing is, at 5.7MB I figured it couldn't be a very good Sim/Game, the best games at the time were 20MB or more, changed my mind a couple of month later and have been here ever since.
For those that like their history, here's what the review looked like way back then ;)

I found it because all the guys playing Warbirds used to say that there was this other game with lots of players and they were all buttheads. I thought I would fit in.

The middle is the actual color. The pictures do not do her justice. She was in Street Customs (2003) magazine.

You may think that, but the 50+ car shows I've attended seem to tell another story. Never lower than second place. EVER.
Got a surprise for ya too hehehe - It's an 1994 Acura Integra LS ;)
I'll start a post in the O' Club so I won't end up thread jacking :P
