Didnt see this when I searched but I was wondering if under the current settings we have or wish for the option in which you can switch to the copilots seat or vice versa? What I mean is in some of the bomber cockpits when I am in aright hand turn it is hard to see as much as I would like to. Maybe something like a: .copilot would work much like we do for other settings. What do you think?

I dont see a major point for this, just go to F3 mode and turn.
-
I do use the F3 option but at times I like to be able to see instruments and such as well as keep my eye on altitdue when I am at low alt doing turns.

Just use the arrow keys and adjust your position.

Some bombers have forwards guns in pilot position

I do that as well Jolly. Just for me I would like to have the option to see things from the right hand seat at times. I.E. the B29 comes to mind as one where you have limited view to the right even with adjusted views. Just a prefernce that I would use, thats all.

unless you're turning right next to a mountain, it wont really make a difference what you see. all you need to see and know is right at the instrument panel or the clipboard.

i think theres something that isnt being said here. what about when your pilot gets wounded then you just jump into co-pilot? maybe thats the wish in disguise?

Agreed. This would be a tremendous help for myself, especially
in the B-25. Low-level flying is a hobby of mine, and would be
great to see out the other window. With the B-29, it would
certainly help on-the-deck banking turns.

wowwww.....

No wish in disguise. For example at time when I am flying NOE in B25 or B26 and I need to make a right turn I just wish I could see more out of the right side vice having to go to F3. I know you can go to the turret or the nose gun and use rudder to turn but what I am just saying is if it was an option I would use it at times. Not a must have thing just a wish.

Unless you're doing a right downwind and need to a reference where to turn base (I don't like using F3 if I can keep from it....an "immersion" thing). I like the idea....could be position #8.

What if pilot1 and pilot2(co-pilot) and pilot 1 which is the one we use gets a pw. What if we could chose to fly with pilot 2. This is what I want

I've asked for it many times

from an immersion stand point the pilot wont give control to the co-pilot because copilot can see better to the right. it seems that coading time could be better use fixing some other stuff that needs fixing.

From an immersion standpoint, your co-pilot would be there telling you about any
obstacles while you concentrate on your instruments.
From an immersion standpoint, being able to sit in the right seat will cover your
missing co-pilot pretty well.

I would like to see that. good idea.

Having been both pilot and copilot on B17 and B24 I gotta tell ya that sometimes we did switch who the flying pilot was such as formation flight or taxiing into tight areas. Having the ability to pop into the right seat would take the place of having the other pilot tell you when to turn.
I'm guessing you've never flown one that you can't just respawn if something happens. :D
-
maybe instead of having to adjust the view every other time you want to change views, just looking right and then moving forward woud make it easier?
-
hey kev, you can just get into the nose gun (or whatever gun) and use rudder to turn. no loss of altitude, so no need to worry about crashing if you're NOE

From the horses mouth and for the right reasons.

+1 on OP, particularly for this reason.

b17 and b24 you can move over quite easily with cursor key / f10
dunno why the 25 or 29 cant.
26 can also, as can goon. and ju88 but the mg gets in the way a bit. :)

no never flown one, but I did stay at a holiday... ok i did go into one at an airshow. was pretty cool. my point is why waste time coading something that can easily be done in f3 mode and hardly would be used. I know nothing about coading, but i dont think its a simple type yes line for it.

dont need f3 in b17 or 24.. just slide over to co pilot seat with cursor key and f10 it.

How about if you were in a B-29? Technically, there was no co-pilot in a B-29, only the aircraft commander and pilot. :t
ack-ack

From an immersion standpoint you will often see the FO land an aircraft and the PIC take over half way down the runway during rollout. This is especially common in CRJ- aircraft where the FO only has about 5 degrees of steering on the nose wheel and the PIC needs to drive them off the runway. Pilots and FOs change driving roles in the strangest places...since we don't HAVE FOs (or maybe we don't have PICs, never been too positive on that)...then again if you want immersion XPlane isn't too bad.
-
why dont you just map a view on the keypad for the #8 and it could look at those other gauges.
-
I find the wish to be more of a position wish, not a person wish. You're just being AKAK. :D
