i've not even come close to killing a B-29 once!
on numerous occassions i'll hear about one and up a K4 to intercept. once i finally catch up, i take a sweeping pass from the side, and put a few taters in the lead drone before i'm blown out of the sky. no apparent damage to the drone :bhead
was aiming for the engines but you gotta love the MK. 108's trajectory
there's a good reason why the 29 is perked

Problem #1 - Get into position before attacking. If you try to intercept after you see them you'll always be behind them. If you're going to hunt bombers, start your sortie with that purpose. Bring plenty of gas and time to climb to a good patrol altitude. Position yourself between likely bomber targets (fleets and bases being used by "the horde") and likely backfield bases. Once at altitude set your RPMs/MP to super cruise and keep watch of these bases in the enemy rear. If you see a red sector DAR all alone, two or three sectors behind the front lines, it's probably a big fat bomber, low, slow and struggling to get altitude in safety. Coming in from above to attack at 500mph when he's at 150mph gives a much better chance of success than climbing at a bomber from below at 150mph when he's doing 300mph. Aim for the pilot. One good round there will end it quick saving you time, gas and ammo.

This is pass number four on the same formation and it is the one that strikes the final blow. 29 #1 has no tail feathers and he is afraid to bail so instead tries to get home. This causes him to lose all three in the end. When I kill #3 the lead bomber #1 rolls too far right (while trying to shoot the Typhoon off his six) and cannot be recovered which leads #2 into a steep turn also and so it loses all surfaces as well.
This is the proper angle and #3 is the proper element to hit first (no change in position so fewer midairs). You can see the pilot of #3 is hit and the plane explodes leading to a chain reaction (which is suggested but not shown). Just watch for the the steep turn by #1.
Why people atack from the rear I cant explain.
