It REALLY needs to be toughened up....That plane can take a few 20mms and whole tail comes off!! That plane was next to imposibble to bring down. I dont fly the 29s, but i feel bad when i put a few bullets in him and he loses 200 perks.

Yea! I mean, i but like 2 20mms in the tail.....and he died....Thats definently not how it was in WW2. Tooks loads of bullets to bring down the SUPERFORTRESS>

Man, I did not believe the post, but it actually worked. Chop throttle, start putting flaps out until all out, drop gear, start 3.5k descent from 35K... nice controlled, slow. Like I said, completely not what I thought would work when I read it, but it sure as heck did. As far as the easy to kill, man those gun positions are hard to see out of. Gotta give credit to the gunners back in the day.

No it wasn't, especially after the armor was removed. Japanese defense strategy is the main reason why more B-29s weren't shot down but don't mistake that for the B-29 being almost invincible.

just because it might of taken alot of round to bring down a b29 from shooting form its 6 (like that blackwidow reported that everyone posts) doesnt mean everyone wouldnt be dead from alot less bullets and its just a ghost plane like the one from that account.

That report was probably on a near fuel starved plane. For your consideration.

apparently it did get a "buff".
but i dont think the b29 deserves the steep perk price it has right now. especially since its engines can ignite just as easily as the b24s can.
also, the b29 seems to be a fickle aircraft. some days i can take alot of 30mm tator rounds from a k4 and only lose the rudder, other days i'll get my tail shot off by a typhoon making a blind pass on me.

The B-29 was not invincible by any means - read 'Aces of the Rising Sun'. The main problem the Japanese had was getting aircraft up high enough to make an interception on a high altitude target going 300+. We should have a good demonstration of this tonight if the rooks get their epic B-29 mission up.
